Well, the reason I asked how long you are willing to put up with me is that in Europe we have a disgustingly large number of vacation days. If I manage to have some of this year transferred to next year, I think I might be able to reach a total of about 40 days off (social security rulesOriginally posted by Loon
As far as the LA caravan, I don't expect my parents will have too much of a problem, though numbers and times will need to be confirmed and I am getting there early.
So anyone who is going through LA, let me know.
As far as costs in LA, I'm not really sure. Breakfast can be had for well under $5. Figure 5-10 for lunch (more if you go to a real restaurant). Also figure that you tend to spend more on vacation. I think, after lodging is accounted for, you can probably do very well on $30/day assuming you don't go Disneyland. This is just a guess and I have no idea about SF.
Anyway, that said, I could thus easily take three or four weeks off. I'm sure I'll manage to keep myself busy for that long if I want to, but I think I'd be pushing my luck with your folks Loon
Hence my question, how long will they put up with visitors, then substract a few days from that and I have the number of days I definitely shouldn't overstay. Well, something like that anyway.
So, my idea is to also take a week before and a week after TAM off from work. Except, checking the calendar, it seems that would put my flight to the US very close to New Year. That might not be such a bright idea ...
Then again, if I plan it all right, I could celebrate New Year in LA
