Moderated What's wrong with porn?

All this talk of what horrific socioeconomic and abuse conditions led to these sweet unblemished midwestern kids coming out to L.A. and getting spit-roasted...

I'm sure JFrankA knows this for sure, but my belief is that the majority of girls who get into porn do it because they like ****ing on camera. I, for one, don't see why that's so hard to believe. I wouldn't sweat the plight of the females, either...they get paid a lot better than the males.

If the males looked half as good as the females, and did the same things.... well, they'd be in gay porn and actually paid even better :p

Why would money even be a factor? The getting paid part actually makes me doubt that the men in Gay Porn video's are not really gay at all, just pretending to be. The same goes for Straight porn stars. Why do you need money if you are getting it on with some hottie that make's your hormones raging?

Because it's still a job. To get aroused on cue and have several money shots in one day isn't all that easy. Trust me.

As far as the negative effects of porn I think Doug Stanhope said it best:

I haven't found that to be true AT ALL.

Not even close.

I still appreciate the same sorts of women I started out being attracted to.

And I have been in and around people who make porn for decades.

I think porn people are usually way too skinny and usually rather uninteresting.

There are a tons of reasons. I know models who loves to perform in front of a camera, who love being "naughty", who are rebelling against whomever, who are looking to really make it big in the adult business, who just want to see what it's like, who just want to see what it's like, etc, etc, etc, and yes the money too.

But by my experience, the models I've had the best experiece with are the women who a) treat this as a business and b) enjoy the job that they do.

....but then again, isn't that true with any job?

As far as the negative effects of porn I think Doug Stanhope said it best:
"It diminishes your taste for the type of woman that would actually have sex with you."

I don't get how. This sounds backwards to me. People are going to be attracted to the people that they find attractive. So when they watch porn, people are going to watch the model that they are attracted to.

or as the very sexy feminist Naomi Wolf states:
"The onslaught of porn is responsible for deadening male libido in relation to real women, and leading men to see fewer and fewer women as 'porn-worthy.' Far from having to fend off porn-crazed young men, young women are worrying that as mere flesh and blood, they can scarcely get, let alone hold, their attention."

Now this might be a bit of an extreme quote, but I think it does point out a couple of interesting suggestions that warrant further examination.

I'm sorry, that's just nuts.

It's like anything else that's legal - it's fine if you're fine with it, and it's not if you're not. If you're not, you don't have to look at it, but you don't get to stop other people from looking.

Let's say the man has to have 7 money shots in 21 hours. That is one shot every 3 hours, and if the woman is a hottie, it would be easier, if you know what i mean ;)

It is very possible. The period between male ejaculations can range from a minute to an hour, making it very possible, if not likely, to achieve it seven times in a day.

I'll assume that it's possible. My question is, however... will the porn industry have ice packs readily available for later in the day? After seven ejaculations in 21 hours, the throbbing in the genitals is no longer a good throbbing. :D

I think the idea is that there are few women out there that look like pornstars and most men are not attractive enough themselves to get them. Of course the same could be said for mainstream film/TV stars.

Oh, I don't know. I mean I was in a college with 1800 female students and I found like, maybe 4-6 of them to be attractive to me. Whether this was the fault of porn, school, TV, parenting, Sesame Street or just my own psychosis is a matter of debate. Personally, I don't blame the porn.

An interesting aspect of the modern porn industry is that many of the performers go on to be producers and directors themselves. Ashley Blue, Audrey Hollander and Aurora Snow all went down that route. Some do it for a while then drop out to focus on family and other careers, one of my all time favorites, Violet Blue (later known as No Name Jane) did it that way. Others are already strippers and indulge in the porn industry to make themselves more marketable for the stripping circuit while others are simply tired of stripping and realize that porn pays better (dependent, of course, on what she's willing to do as scenes involving anal, double penetrations, double vaginal penetrations and whatnot pay more than straight up vanilla) and involves less work. Then, of course, you have the amateurs who don't need the money at all and do it for the thrill of it.

Not all of them though!!

Dan Savage, the sex columnist, says that he frequently gets letters from PO'ed girlfriends or wives about their boyfriend or hubby's viewing of porn. Often they will have been rummaging around on the significant other's computer and found the "stash" file....

The complaint is that the men will have an "unnatural" idea of sex, and that they will be forever inadequate..."not good enough for him" or somesuch.

Savage is, in my opinion, quite right in maintaining that the women should not be concerned; most men who consume such material do not expect the same thing in real life. It's just...Lubricious.

I've seen the boyfriends (and girlfriends) of a number of porn actresses. Good looks on their part rarely enters into the equation.
