What's wrong is that there are basically no channels Republican voters use to see content outside their bubble.
The other way is slightly more permeable, as many studies have shown.

That is mainly because nobody has been able to predict what Trump (and thus conservatives) will believe tomorrow.
Nobody is as unpredictable as the conservative cultists, in this respect. In fact, I think conservatives aren't any better at predicting what conservatives will believe tomorrow than 'lefties' are.
The one thing that's almost 100% predictable is that whatever Trump says is what they'll believe, but as for the specifics of those beliefs, i.e. of what he'll say? Nah!

This is not limited to the USA.
The only heroes are "our guys", civilians in their way had the misfortune and bad taste* to be in their way towards the glory of "our" country.

An ex-military friend of mine (who fortunately never saw action) once told me that in a war, the most difficult job was to be a fantassin. I answered that actually, the most difficult job is to be a woman, especially a mother, who has to try to make her family survive amidst fights, bombings, shelter and food scarcity, permanent threats of violence, displacements, etc. Those are the real heroes, whatever their nationality or religion.

But of course, cowards like Trump, his enablers, admirers and supporters, who will happily send people to their death and pay their survivors with empty words, have absolutely no notion of what it takes to live through a war when you're defenceless and in charge of even more defenceless dependents.
