We really shouldn't be allowed to vote, we're too emotional. Unlike men, who are never emotional about such things.

Good point!

Just look at how many female assassins or would-be assassins there have been in America alone.

men don't have object permanence, so it makes them nervous if they don't know where every woman in their lives is at any time.

IMO, people do know, deep down, what Harris and her team did wrong, but they would prefer it not to be those reasons.

As the saying goes: "If that is the solution then I want my problem back."

Dems would rather lose to Republicans than risk going too far to the Center/Left.

If she was a white man she might have picked up enough votes in key districts to beat Trump, but that was also unlikely. Why? Because people were voting mostly on issues where Republican policies were more attractive. You just have to look at the things Trump promised to see why so many voted for him over any Democrat. Rural America is not going to vote Democrat because they are America's real enemy. The list of disgusting crimes they will commit if they ever get into power is long, but we can start with murdering babies in the womb, giving your job to a DEI hire, and genociding your race by opening the borders to illegal immigrants.
The great replacement theory! Better get fast making babies, the rural areas are emptying out. There are no hourly workers soon that are white. They will be the children of the immigrants Biden let in.

At a minimum, you'd think they could at least refer to it as an "after-action review" rather than an autopsy or post-mortem.
The report itself does not use either term, and appears to be an early draft covered in editors notes and fact-checks.

There is around zero chance that the DNC are taking this report seriously, given the amount of red ink spilled.

Perhaps they will find a better report?

Why wouldn't the DNC like this report? It's two major conclusions are that Biden didn't set Harris up for success, and that the Dems lost the election primarily because they didn't have an effective "Trump is evil, don't vote for him" message. Even in draft form, that second bit is exactly what progressives in this thread have been saying from the very beginning.

Because it is unfinished and does not come with any sources or data backing up its conclusions. Seriously, just look at it. It looks like someone got partway through and then the project was scrapped.

No idea where you are pulling this from, given that the report lacks a conclusions section.

The DNC report actually says "The Harris campaign appears to have relied on Trump being unacceptable rather than building an affirmative case for Harris. Base voters needed reasons to vote FOR Harris as well as against Trump. Without an effective contrast with a difficult (and unaffordable) status quo, the obvious contrast with Trump was not a sufficient motivator, especially since there was not sufficient negative messaging about how horrible Trump was (and still is) for and to most Americans."

I hope the DNC has an in house version not for public consumption, making it public almost necessitates that it won't be fully candid.

Also, according to chat GPT, both reports say its the economy stupid (in part). The DNC seems to say they didn't communicate about how good the economy was. I only mention this because, when the GOP gets turned out on their asses, its almost certainly going to be more about the economy than Trump being the most corrupt piece of ◊◊◊◊ to hold the office since tea pot dome and the GOP being a bunch of cowardly lickspittles.

no, that's what progressive have been saying should have been obvious to anyone who voted for Trump last time.
The Harris campaign failed because it tried to make Republicans stay home instead of working to make Democrats come out to vote.

No mention of Israel or Gaza; there are several pages in the report that talk about Ron Brown's leadership of the DNC (which ended 33 years ago), and not a word about that conflict. It has become an article of faith among liberals that Biden and Harris' support for Israel cost them the youth vote in 2024.

Trump was a well-known corrupt piece of ◊◊◊◊ before 2024. It will never be about that.

It requires an account
Oh ◊◊◊◊ that is annoying. I'll paste in the major bits below.

The two documents are surprisingly aligned on several core diagnoses about why Democrats struggled electorally after 2024, but they differ sharply in tone, ideology, and how far they think the party should move toward the political center.

Here’s the clearest way to think about them:

The DNC report is an official-ish institutional autopsy: cautious, broad, and focused on messaging, organization, and tactical failures.

The DTW (“Deciding to Win”) report is more of a reform manifesto arguing that Democrats have become culturally and politically disconnected from persuadable working-class voters.

What the reports broadly agree on

1. Democrats lost credibility with working-class voters

This is probably the single biggest overlap.

Both reports argue Democrats lost ground with non-college voters, especially working-class voters across racial groups, because the party failed to connect on everyday economic concerns and cultural trust.

The DNC autopsy emphasizes that Democrats did not sufficiently communicate economic accomplishments or address affordability concerns in a persuasive way.

The DTW report makes a similar argument, but more aggressively. It argues Democrats became overly associated with elite institutions, activist language, and culturally progressive priorities that alienated swing voters.

2. Affordability and cost of living were central
Both reports say voters cared far more about prices, housing, wages, and economic stability than many Democratic strategists appreciated.

The DNC framing is:

Democrats had strong policies but weak communication.

Voters did not feel economic improvement personally.

The DTW framing is:

Democrats were not merely bad at messaging.

The party’s emphasis and coalition priorities genuinely drifted away from bread-and-butter concerns.

So they agree on the importance of economics, but disagree on whether the problem was mostly communication versus substance/priorities.

3. Democrats underperformed in rural and less-urban areas
Both reports acknowledge major erosion outside dense urban/suburban strongholds.

The DNC report reportedly criticizes the Harris campaign for “writing off rural America.”

DTW goes further, arguing Democrats increasingly project cultural hostility toward non-urban America and need sustained reengagement with rural and exurban voters.

4. The party needs stronger local organizing
Both reports criticize overreliance on national media and presidential campaigns.

Common themes:

rebuild state parties

invest locally

organize year-round

engage communities continuously instead of episodically

The DNC report especially emphasizes structural underinvestment since 2008.

Gotta start saying stupid stuff. Stuff that sounds as stupid as Trump. Those Democrats with their science are always waving it around as if it is facsts.

How about, "women can have penises, men can get pregnant." That's pretty stupid.
