I still say they should have been more aggressive when they had power. Also, screaming "best economy ever!" when wealth inequality was still acceleratingly huge was rubbing a lot of people the wrong way. They should have been way more active in promoting the good they did and what they were working on. They haven't figured out that politics is about crafting a narrative and flooding the news cycle with it now.

They can try but when the people who own the media (traditional and social) are determined to propagate an alternative narrative it gets difficult.

That's why real grass roots efforts are so important. Get out there and be with the people. Be part of the community. Lift people up. Provide someone with a real tangible benefit that they can see today. Its a lot harder to sell that "Democrats are the party of elite pedophile rings" when those are the people out there helping you tend your community garden. Or walking the picket line with the local union. Or moving pallets for the local food bank. Or handing out blankets after a natural disaster.

Yes, please link to it. I have read that Biden's display was about EV in general, and featured several different brands, as the point was to encourage adoption of the EV car technology itself, not one particular brand endorsement. Not having seen video I don't know whether that's true or not. But I think it's certainly a difference, if true, and if so then not pointing it out is tantamount to deception.

a reality for tesla is their operating income last year, which was a much better year than this year for them, was around $7b. and even that's pretty likely due to some funny book keeping. but tesla is trading at about $230 a share today, and that's already after it recently lost like 50% of it's market cap. as a comparison, nvidia's operating profit was around $40b. last quarter. nvidia is trading at $119 today. ford's operating profit last year was $5b, and it's trading at $10. there's 30 days until tesla's next earnings report. it's not really a matter of how well did they do but how bad does it look.

but nothing to do with that company is anything but a bunch of fraud at this point. anyone investing in it isn't doing it because of tesla's ability to be economically productive in any way. there's a lot of that going on in tech right now imo

Musk is a vaporware salesman propped up by government welfare. Tesla's market cap is way out of whack with their revenue and profits. It is the opposite of everything we know about sound investing. The fact that it continues at its current valuation isn't a testament to the company or Musk, but rather an indictment of our current financial system. It's the poster child for everything wrong with Silicon Valley and Wall Street.

Yeah, as already point out, that was a presentation promoting EV use as part of Biden's climate agenda involving multiple auto manufacturers and members of the UAW, not an event promoting a single car company with the president literally giving a sales pitch.

I haven't seen such an embarrassingly gullible regurgitation of right wing propaganda since that time you told us Trump would end the Ukraine war in January (FYI: It's now March and Trump hasn't ended the war).

Because other manufacturers focused on EVs after they saw there was a market for it? Tesla can have credit for building a quality car but the fact is they haven't progressed in the market. They've stood still and that's why they're failing right now. If the company doesn't continue to move forward then they aren't worth a damn. Combine that with Tesla's repeated embarrassments when it comes to the robots they're making, and the market is passing them by.

So you're saying that this is all by Musk's design? He WANTS other companies to catch up, and pass him? He opened the patent for the charging stations which most manufacturers are not compatible with. He did it to sell more cars.

The EU requiring cross compatibility in charging stations did as much or more to increase adoptions of EVs.
