Vice Presidential Debate

Trump's base isn't made of Pence fans: he is the token old guard man, a necessary tradeoff for GOP support.

If it seems like he's taking over, that wouldn't sit well with Trump's supporters .

Unless Fox shows that, it is unlikely that supporters of Trump/Pence will become aware of it.

Trump supporters don't care about facts. They would explain any bad facts away with cognitive dissonance and out right deninal. In short, they are Republicans.

How can Donald not be a Republican when he is their nominee? Clearly lots of Republican voters believe he is a better Republican than the ones he ran against. Obviously these is something very seriously wrong with those people, but that doesn't mean they aren't Republicans.

The broad shoulders compensate for the small hands.

I think the 'broad shoulders' comment is a subtle(?) way of emphasizing that Trump is male, since a male's frame tends toward that feature in contrast to women.

I was hoping that someone could come up with another explanation, but that was all I could hear every time he said it.

What else is he trying to say with that choice of words? I was seriously at a loss.

So I looked it up here.

have broad shoulders
1. Lit. to have wide shoulders.
2. Fig. to have the ability to cope with unpleasant responsibilities; to have the ability to accept criticism or rebuke.

Does Mike Pence know Donald Trump at all?

When I heard it the first time, I figured it meant the ability to bear heavy responsibilities. But when I saw the clips of how it has become a talking point, yeah, it seems a way to call Hillary a weak little woman without saying it outright.

It's actually kind of clever, since they can repeat how she is 'weak' in her policies, and the double meaning there and in the shoulders comment can emphasize the frail woman stereotype, and not get pinged for saying it.

It would infuriate Trump. Go #PenceInCharge! Tweet away my lovelies! Bwahahaha!

Haha. I will be using this. Trump's narcissism cannot take that for a moment.
