Usha Vance's undiplomatic diplomacy in Greenland is outright weird (MSNBC, Mar 25, 2025)
It feels ridiculously unnecessary for Vance to be dragged into this mess as the soft power side of what’s clearly a good cop-bad cop routine. But, then again, the vice presidency has long been regarded as one of the least consequential roles in Washington. By the transitive property alone, the role of the vice president’s spouse must be up there as far as gigs go. Second ladies (or, as of recently, gentlemen) haven’t accumulated the same sort of cache as cultural icons that first ladies have, but that still doesn’t help explain the odd choice of Vance’s first solo destination.
(...)
Outgoing Prime Minister Múte Egede called Vance’s visit a “highly aggressive” attempt to influence the new government and said that “it can in no way be characterized as a harmless visit from a politician’s wife.” Egede said, “What is the security adviser doing in Greenland? The only purpose is to show a demonstration of power to us, and the signal is not to be misunderstood.”

Somebody please tell me that the officials in Greeenland have told the American delegation that no one is available to take their call at this time, and should consider making an appointment on any future visits?

Mystery surrounds the U.S. vist: Well-known Greenlanding Trump fan is involved
"All the American politicians that I met asked be: 'What can we do to strengthen the relationship between the USA and Greenland?' And then I said, 'You can start by sponsoring this'," Jørgen Boassen says to Jyllands-Posten.
And with 'this', he is referring to the dogsled race that begins in Sisimiut on Saturday.

This is something that the Trump delegation will have to talk with Jørgen 'Quisling' Boassen about. He is not a politician or a representative of anything other than himself, but he appears to be the one who invited them.

Cool. They can all hang out at Quissy's place and stop embarassing the people of the United States.

You mean "Governor Boassen"...

"They're calling us, we're not calling them."
That part of it is probably true. He pays Jørgen Boassen to call him.
That's how the USA always does it: 'We didn't just invade the country. We were asked to go there by citizens who needed our protection.'
Better still to have U.S. citizens in the country make the call, i.e. to invade the country to protect U.S. citizens, like when Reagan invaded Grenada (probably without ever having heard from the students):
United States invasion of Grenada: October 1983 (Wikipedia)
Reagan stated that he felt compelled to act due to "concerns over the 600 U.S. medical students on the island" and fears of a repeat of the Iran hostage crisis, which ended less than three years earlier.
If John Bolton had stayed onboard with MAGA, he would have been proud of Trump at this point.

Jørgen Boassen may not have been the one who is directly and formally responsible for having invited the MAGAts:
Media: The association behind the dogsled race invited the Americans
According to a document obtained by the Greenlandic media outlet KNR, it is the KNQK, which is responsible for the dog sled race, that has invited the American guests to visit Greenland.
According to KNR, the chairman of the association, Mikkel Jeremiassen, in an official letter from Feb 16, the chairman of the association, writes:
- It is a great honor on behalf of KNQK to invite you to attend and participate in the prestigious dogsled race in Greenland.
According to KNR, the letter was sent to the US Secretary of Defense.
Mikkel Jeremiassen has previously denied that the association has anything to do with the invitation.
DR cannot verify the information.

I assume that it was sent to Hegseth because it was important to involve Pentagon directly. Otherwise, it would have looked even more suspicious for the U.S. Air Force to send planes to Sisimiut: "two planes from the U.S. Air Force landed in Greenland yesterday, and they brought special vehicles." (See post 397)

Conscription of women to serve in the Danish military will begin one year early:
Conscription of women to the Danish military will begin on July 1, 2025

Until now, women weren't drafted to serve in the Danish army. They were all volunteers and professional soliders.

More about the traitors in 🇬🇱 :
Grønlandsk forening forsøgte at presse selvstyre for millionbeløb (TV2.dk, Mar 25, 2025)

Association in Greenland tried to pressure Greenland's government to pay millions
The dogsled race wanted to ask the Americans if they could borrow CH-47 Chinook helicopters. Photo: Hannibal Hanschke / Ritzau Scanpix
The Greenlandic association behind Saturday's much-talked-about dogsled race, KNQK, requested an additional grant of almost 1.7 million kroner from the Greenlandic government on March 11.
This was done in a threatening tone, writes the Greenlandic media Sermitsiaq based on access to a document.
- If the application for additional grants to implement Avannaata Qimussersua 2025 is not approved, we will have to resort to help from the USA in the form of their CH47 helicopters, Mikkel Jeremiassen, chairman of KNQK, writes in an email to Greenland's government, according to Sermitsiaq.
KNQK withdrew their application to the government on Monday, March 24, writes the Greenlandic media. On the same day, DR reported that KNQK had received sponsorship from the American consulate for Air Greenland flights for transportation in the context of the dogsled race.

They must be so proud of themselves. 'If you won't give us the money, we know somebody who is more than willing to help us.'
I would still like to know if this is financed by Pentagon or the USAID ...
