Trump's Second Term

Read the bloody article for once in your life!!!
I understand what they wanted to say. It was just a terrible way to express it, due to the wish for sensationalism.

What they should have said that there are hardly any new pledges and some older once were withdrawn - those are 2 separate things.

You cannot reduce something bu more than 100% , that's just abusing the language of maths.

It isn't actually income until the donation is made, it's potential income. They've been counting regular income, and then the potential income, and have lost more than the regular income without the donations.

@realDonaldTrump

Congratulations to the GREAT Boeing Company for producing a plane, the 737 Max, that was able to withstand G Forces and Strain far beyond what it was designed and expected to do.
It was an amazing show of precise and powerful structural planning and design. It is about time that The Boeing Company, which builds, by far, the finest commercial airliners in the sky, was given credit for this airplane's incredible "genius!"
To Kelly Ortberg, and all of his officers and associates at Boeing, congratulations on a job well done!!!
President DONALD J. TRUMP
Isn't the 737 Max the one that keeps getting grounded for failing to stay in the air?

the reason why the 737 Max is so strained is because its software has to fight with the flight dynamics of the plane nonstop, but especially during landing&takeoff.
It's what you get when you let your accountants design a plane.

Of course the DC prosecutor Jeanine Pirro already dropped this case, recognising it was utterly hopeless. Trump threw a tantrum.

So I wonder how, procedurally, the case came to be before the judge to be permanently dismissed and prevent Trump pressuring some poor sacrificial lamb at the DOJ to try again. I guess it would have been Hearn's lawyers who acted, to stop this from hanging over their client, but I have no idea how that works.

We can now look forward to some kind of ugly, vexatious lawfare revenge act against both Pirro and Hearn. The innocent must ever suffer to protect the monster's ego.
Probably an application by lawyers for the defendant.

Still not an accurate description.
Yes it is, because that is how it works for tax purposes, which is what they were talking about. You would have known that IF you bothered to read the article, or even the excerpt I posted with the link....

"A tax expert told CNN that a decline of that size is possible if earlier pledges were withdrawn."

Having run a business, and done most of my own accounting, I can explain how and why a drop in financial metrics can exceed 100%.

When a metric transitions from a positive value to a negative value (in tax terms, when a business goes from generating a NOP (net operating profit) to incurring an NOL (net operating loss). If the drop is large enough to wipe out the entire original value and push the new value into negative territory, the calculation will yield a percentage decrease greater than 100%.

Pledges made in a previous year count as revenue in the current year. If those pledges are subsequently withdrawn, then they become a negative metric in the current year. If actual donations/pledges to not reach expected values, then the income for the current year is negative, the company makes a loss, and if it is a sufficiently large loss compared with the previous year, the metric for that loss can exceed 100%.
