I was reading about this too. Some of those positions were taken less than an hour before the attack began.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for those that lost money however. One of the cardinal rules of proposition betting is that you don't bet on something that someone, somewhere knows the answer to.

I wish I could say that Canada is not involved in this fiasco but unfortunately we are in a limited way. We always have troops on exchange with US forces and there are some assigned to units that have a hand in this. The DND claims that no Canadian forces have assisted in any capacity but I think on some level they are likely involved in backroom operations or support.

There have been calls for some time now to withdraw our troops on exchange with the US but also a counter argument that at least it gives us some eyes and ears on the inside of the machine that can give us some intel.
