Trump's Second Term

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
THE UNITED STATES TRADE DEFICIT HAS BEEN REDUCED BY 78% BECAUSE OF THE TARIFFS BEING CHARGED TO OTHER COMPANIES AND COUNTRIES. IT WILL GO INTO POSITIVE TERRITORY DURING THIS YEAR, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MANY DECADES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!
Trump's math is getting better. Now he's off by only two decimal orders of magnitude.

I want to apologize to everyone for dissing them about my Rachel Maddow video, because I can't find any secondary news items along those lines either, but I also can't find any news items where Toyota promised to invest 9 billion dollars in the US either.

If anyone has any news about that, please post it.

Thank you, and I apologize again.

I did find this though...

Toyota clarifies it never promised $10 billion U.S. investment despite Trump's claim

(SNIP)
Trump told reporters Tuesday evening while in Japan that Toyota, the biggest automaker in the world, would invest around $10 billion in America. But Hiroyuki Ueda, a senior Toyota official, said the company made no such clear promise in discussions with Japanese authorities and the U.S. Embassy before Trump arrived...

Way back in November, Toyota was reported to have said it would invest another $10 billion in US plants over the next 5 years. This was reported by multiple credible sources. Other credible sources, such as the one you're citing now, reported Toyota's denial of that report. If you look at the dates for the two reports I just linked to, you will discover something interesting: Toyota's denial was reported before Financial Times reported the thing Toyota was denying. Go figure.

A few days ago, multiple credible sources ran unrelated stories concerning such things as production of the RAV4 in Canada and the fact that Toyota and Honda are now producing three quarters of the cars built in Canada.

The fake videos you asked us to believe may have been timed to piggyback upon confusion among the ill-informed concerning genuine news stories such as those I linked to above. That's typical behavior for the makers of fake videos. That's why we have to be skeptical of YouTube videos and other sketchy sources.

AI has got frighteningly good of late. Hopefully the bubble bursts soon, because the need to constantly fact-check everything is ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ exhausting.

No problem.
We all get fooled eventually and hopefully learn from it. It was fakes of her material that fooled me too, so I started hunting for known AI fail points and found them in the majority of videos attributed to her.
She is not alone. There are other political channels that have alt right clones that occasionally pop up. They manage to disparage the "libs" while clickbaiting them in.

Well, it is strange, but there are multiple sources to this "fact", so I really don't know what to believe anymore.

ETA: What's also strange is that in the same article it's also reported:

The confusion over Toyota’s investment plans came during Trump’s three-day Japan visit, which wrapped up Wednesday. The trip featured plenty of warm words between American and Japanese leaders but produced little concrete action on a massive $550 billion investment program Japan has promised.

$550 billion sounds outlandish to me, but that might just be a way for them to get the fat clown off their backs until he gets booted.

Now there's a video that susposedly shows Rachel Maddow breaking the story that Volkswagon is shifting a factory to Canada.

Seriously, Rachel Maddow supposedly broke the story about the Toyota plant 2 days ago, but not a single actual news site has picked up on it. What are the odds of that if the story is actually credible?
Especially here in Canada. It would be MAJOR news if this happened and yet no media is reporting it.

This is what scares me most about AI. We are about to enter a very dark time where people can't even trust whats real anymore. We're basically there already. The foreseeable consequences are frightening enough. The unforeseen ones are likely going to be worse.

What scares me is if it's used as evidence to convict someone of murder (or any crime for that matter), and they are executed because of it.

Of course, I'm talking about being executed for murder and not any other crime.

We've already reached a stage of "justice" where evidence doesn't matter even if it's definitely real, what matters is who you are and how close are your contacts to those in power. Perhaps I'm a teensy bit cynical, I can't imagine why.

trump makes threats against obama for giving out classified info for his comments on aliens being real
This is a HUUUGE story!
By saying that Obama was giving out classified info, Trump has just confessed that the US government has confirmed that aliens exist on earth (and not just the illegal ones, as he jokingly reiterated) So now we all know...ALIENS!! :ROFLMAO:

Except Obama just said it's possible aliens are somehow somewhere in space. He didn't say aliens have been here.

Of course he didn't, he is part of the deep sate. But Trump (in his demented state) inadvertently let it slip out that "aliens are real" is "classified information"--there is no other way to interpret that but that "it is classified info that aliens are real"! ;););)
