Trump's Second Term

China holding American farmers hostage.
Donald will save them.

Bessent: "It's unfortunate that Chinese leadership has decided to use American soybean farmers as a hostage or pawn in the trade negotiations. American farmers overwhelmingly voted for President Trump ... you should expect news on Tuesday on substantial support for our farmers."

Slight correction.

Russ Vought telling Donald which Democrat Agencies to cut.
Unbelievable opportunity for him!

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
I have a meeting today with Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent. I can’t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity. They are not stupid people, so maybe this is their way of wanting to, quietly and quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DJT"

Project 2025, what’s that?

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they're saying and some of the things they're saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal.

Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them.

Biden's fault that China aren't buying soya beans.

Bessent on China: "At the meeting in Geneva when I asked them, 'Why didn't you continue buying soybeans and the other products' then had one word, and guess what it was? Biden."

Sadly, I never developed the ability to look millions of people in the face and tell such an obvious lie, and not give a damn if anyone believes it.

SO we are reduced to a choice between an oligarch and total government control...all in the name of people of course.
At least you are being honest in your dislike of private business.
Nope, but your slippery slope reaction to any attempt to control capitalist excesses as some sort of tumble into stalinism definitely looks like you prefer an oligarchic system.

If you complain you're going to get more of it.

Rep. Carlos Gimenez defends Trump's racist AI videos: "You're gonna see more of these things happen, and so people need to develop a little bit thicker skin ... if you complain about it you're just going to get more of it"
You think that was debasing the dignity of the office of president? Hold my beer.

Plus, the firm belief that this is enough to placate the farmers who are going to lose everything, because the most important thing is to deflect blame, not to help.

What Bessent is saying that in nine months they are unable to change the trade deals Biden made.

Of course, farmers know exactly what they sold under Biden compared to what they are selling now.

He stopped listening before they continued "...didn't wage a stupid trade war, like Trump is doing".

On the suitability of overweight soldiers

Major General Sir George Frederick Wootten

Veteran of two world wars.
Gallipoli and the Western Front in the 1st war.

North Africa, Tobruk, New Guinea and Borneo in the 2nd.

Wootten commanded the 9th Australian Division, notably leading them in successful campaigns in New Guinea, including the capture of Lae, Finschhafen, and Sattelberg.
His leadership earned him the Commander of the Order of the Bath, Distinguished Service Order with Bar.
General MacArthur described him as "the best soldier in the Australian Army".

Hesgeth specifically mentioned Norman Schwarzkopf as one of the ideal general officers... guess he shouldn't have been commander of CENTCOM during Dessert Storm cause he can't run a 6 minute mile??

ETA: lol Desert Storm.
