Trump's Second Term

US officials have confirmed that President Trump has suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine on top of the pause in military assistance

"We have taken a step back, and are pausing and reviewing all aspects of this relationship," National Security Adviser Mike Waltz says

They needn't worry. We've already seen our last free election.

I have to say Trudeau's speech yesterday morning was note perfect. He didn't resort to juvenile insults but effectively called Trump dumb while quotong the WSJ and the smirk on his face when he said "you're a very smart guy" was priceless. He also never called him mr trump or president but called him Donald 3 times. And why not? Trump has no honour so why bother with an honorific?

#dumbdonald was trending on twitter for a short time yesterday.
Trudeau needs to make a "Hands Off Canada" speech in fron of a statue of General Brock.
No basis ? His control over the government is increasing every day. He has support of the president, so he can't be charged with anything. The only question is how well he can transform this into company success. Clearly he thinks he can. And say all you want, he clearly knows a thing or two about success, or at least, making money.
If money was the only thing Musk was after, I would not be so scared. I thnk he is now power crazy.
Another independent observation that it seems like we're all in a Matrix-like simulation, and some programmer is futzing about, saying "What will those characters do if I program this crazy parameter in?" (Note: I don't really believe that. Yet.)
I still maintain Babylon Five is the SCI Fi show that best mirrors what is going on today in the US.
COme one, I know there are B5 fans here who agree with me...

I have a couple of customers that are like this. Every task is an "emergency" and when I have the task performed as soon as possible, they change their minds. So, I just sit on every ask they give me for a couple of weeks. It's worked out well for me.

I feel for the people who have to actually try to implement Donald's plans, only to be then told the plans have changed. Again.
I remember how in his first term, when he actually had some adults around him, when people close to him said their strategy for dealing with him was to try to distract him with something whenever he got some wild idea, in the hopes he'd just forget about it.

Yesterday King Charles was inspecting a British warship.

He did as King of Canada wearing Canadian military decorations and Canadian honours on his uniform, including the Order of Canada and Canadian Order of Military Merit.

Charles is sending us Trump and the USA a message.GlRYjQEXsAAKfuE.jpg

Too subtle, Trump would never pick up on that. Charles would have to carve a maple leaf into Trump's doughy butt and I wish he would.

He's chickened out of the tariffs twice now.
He only needs to get them going long enough to make the stock market dip. Then he and his cronies can buy low. After that, lift the tariffs and sell high. Plenty of money to be made on the stock market if you know when the dips are coming (or can schedule their arrival)...

All while being outraged at the accusations of insider trading.

Trump is tasking RFK to figure out why there is a rise in autism.

JFC!!!

Exposure to Trump, right?

Is doing the right thing for the wrong reason a positive nor a negative?

That's obviously a grey area, though it's also pretty normal in practice. Personally, I'd evaluate it in line with the net effect and the nature of the two. In this case, it's quite firmly in the negative. The harm is likely to greatly surpass the potential benefits and the brazen dishonesty has consequences itself.

B5 was a fine show and it does have a rather relatable section, yes. I hesitate to agree that it's necessarily the best, though, without a far more comprehensive knowledge of SciFi shows, though.

She left out half of the statement. Trump feels strongly about it. But nobody else does!
She also left out the bit about Trump feeling strongly about it but seemingly being to stupid to realise that deliberately antagonising Trudeau would only sway his attitude from "hell, no" to something more like "hell, no and, by the way, go ◊◊◊◊ yourself".
