The argument is they are only cutting back to 2019 levels.
I think that is a pile of crap..particulary since Trump attacked the Democrats for not doing eough for veterens.

COmapre this with BIll Clinton reducing the size and workforce of the Federal Govenrment. He only started after a six month study, then made the reductions over three years so that attrition did most of the work when it came to remonving Jobs. Very few were RIfed.

Yo had another reversal with GSA pulling the list of buildings to be disposed of they posted yesterday.
They listed every federal building in Sacramento, which has the state headquaters for quite a few federal agencies, including some consisered core by the Trump Aminisitration. Pure idiocy.

All seriousness aside, I'm told that battlefield medicine is improving, and that this means combatants who, ten years ago, would have died from their wounds are surviving. But naturally this results in the long-term injuries among veterans trending toward serious conditions that require more costly care.

If you're talking about Elon Musk (I know it's hard to tell sometimes which idiot con man we're talking about), he doesn't do well with algorithms either. According to those who have seen his code, they say it's unusable. He seems to be legitimately "good with numbers" only in the sense that he seems to be very adept at gaming financial systems. But as you say, he convinces people he has brains he clearly doesn't have.

If the New York Times reporting is to be believed, Musk cooked up the "seize the servers" idea long before he got into the campaign for Donald Trump. (Standard NYT paywall, sadly.)

Musk wanted to "overhaul" the federal bureaucracy not so much to streamline it, but to get rid of the regulations and enforcement actions that were hampering his business ventures. Pres. Trump probably has no more interest in actually governing this time around than he did last time. This time he has an eager billionaire willing to do the actual work, so Trump doesn't care to oversee him or anything.

Too complicated .. so far it's been few %. It might make sense if he drops some companies to 50%, then buys, then lets them get back. Compared to Trump coin which was traded in tens of billions, it's just not worth it.

Simple solution: Require all military personnel to smoke 4 packs a day and eat only fast food! Most of them will be dead before 50! Problem solved!

Pure idiocy? Perhaps. Malice is more likely, at this point, I think.

All the more reason why it should have been obviously insane to put the Party of Treason into power.
