Trump's Second Term

Trump confused transgender and transgenic:
“eight million dollars for making mice transgender. this is real.”

no, no, no, no. nobody is spending government money to make mice transgender. you low-wattage dolt. the word is transgenic.

let’s say you’re a cancer researcher, and you implant some human genetic material into mice, in order to better study how cells mutate. boom! — you’ve just created transgenic mice.

nobody is doing sex-change operations on mice and setting them loose in Nancy Mace’s bathroom.

I'm just surprised he hasn't shut down the Department of Transportation by making the same mistake.

No basis ? His control over the government is increasing every day. He has support of the president, so he can't be charged with anything. The only question is how well he can transform this into company success. Clearly he thinks he can. And say all you want, he clearly knows a thing or two about success, or at least, making money.

since i have permission to say what i want, i’m going to go with right now the stock is down 40% ish, worst sales projections in years, and the board comprised of friends and family are liquidating.

these con men seem like geniuses until they don’t. you could say the same about anyone committing massive fraud, look at the returns. clearly they know success and how to make money.

Con artistry is about keeping all the plates spinning...but you have to keep them spinning forever because as soon as they stop they all come crashing down on your head.

That's what really puzzles me about crime: it usually takes so much more energy and effort to be crooked than to be legit. It must be exhausting to be that foolish maniac.

The WSJ is wrong about Trampy being smart.
Depends on the usage. It's generally understood that "smart" people can do very stupid things, and that people can be smart in one area but total idiots in another. I personally would not call him smart, but I'd acknowledge that he is 'smart' or even brilliant at being an effective conman, by intuitively reading the dumbness of others and playing to their weaknesses. Much like mediums and their cold-reading ability (I'm hearing an 'A'...) Not everyone has those abilities, it's a certain talent. ETA: the two comments right before this one discuss that phenomena.

It comes naturally to them, they are just wired that way. Your exhaustion is their invigoration.

His talent at conning people was on full display last night. For 2 hours, all he said was "I AM THE GREATEST EVER! THE ENTIRE PLANET HAS BEEN SAVED BY MY GREATNESS! (never mind that the world is going to hell...) AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, YOUR ARE NOW SAFE FROM TRANSGENDER ATHLETES!!"
Which to those of us not in the cult, seems like abject lunacy. But his followers eat it up, and even those supporters who raise their eyebrows at it are forced to spin it in a positive way because rejecting it would make them an outcast among those who share their worldview. So in the sense of being an effective con, it is brilliant.

Trump: It has been stated by many that the first month of our presidency, is the most successful in the history of our nation. And what makes it even more impressive is that, you know the number two is? George Washington
That is the only thing I saw when I tuned in, just for a moment. I immediately went back to something else.

Wall Street might be crashing but Russian stocks seem to be soaring over the last couple of weeks.

That tells you a lot.

I'm increasingly wondering if Trump isn't some sort of AI generated hallucination. His words almost sound like human speech, but contain ludicrous errors and images and video of him certainly have that good try but not quite human quality to them.
Another independent observation that it seems like we're all in a Matrix-like simulation, and some programmer is futzing about, saying "What will those characters do if I program this crazy parameter in?" (Note: I don't really believe that. Yet.)

Looks like Trump's eleventy-D chess game is playing out as expected:

China has warned the US it is ready to fight "any type" of war after hitting back against President Donald Trump's mounting trade tariffs.

Looks like they're really reeling from Trump's show of strength...
