TN police chief believes baby died due to caretaker being afraid to call emergency services

The chief says local police cannot deport people, but if they find out that someone is undocumented, they are required to report them to ICE.

Chief Christopher Moews said he planned to hold the meeting after the death of a 6-month-old baby.

“Anybody in this community, regardless of your legal status, is entitled to emergency services. That’s the law,” Moews told community members at the town hall. “Do not be afraid to call the police department due to your legal status.”

Moews says local police cannot deport people, but if they find out that someone is undocumented, they are required to report them to ICE.

Perhaps the Chinese will surprise the Americans by sending them over the south pole! Perhaps Mexico should become the 52nd state?
I personally think it would be cool if Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. combined to make one North American country. But the differences are too great, and I don't want The POSOTUS to have had anything to do with it.

Heck, it increasingly seems the differences are too great for even the US to be a country.

I get the sentiment, though. I keep thinking it'd be neat if the Nordics were one country.

Regarding Harvard University versus trade schools, my thoughts are that of course we need butchers, bakers, and candlestick makers. Yet we also need Harvard to educate people like Jennifer Doudna, one of the scientists primarily responsible for CRISPR, which used to be science fiction but is now used in medicine.
Aren't thoughts and prayers enough?

Trump to a reporter who asked him about his tariff waffling: "Don't ever say what you said. That's a nasty question."
To put it another way, Wall Street calls it TACO trading. trump no like:
Donald Trump once again got testy with a reporter over a question, this time over a phrase being used on Wall Street over the president’s tendency to not follow through on tariff threats: the TACO trade, as in “Trump Always Chickens Out.” Yahoo News article link

Get those foreigners out.

The U.S. will begin revoking visas of Chinese students, including those with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in critical fields

They violate the 1977 statute. Tariff collection will stop soon unless Appeals court allows them to continue.
Were the tariffs --any of them-- actually being collected, though? I know some companies started charging for them, but did that money actually get to where it was supposed to go?
