Trump's Second Term

This is new.

Refrigerant

Trump: "There's nothing wrong with the refrigerant other than sometimes it makes your food too cold. Its alternative costs about twice as much and it doesn't cool your food at all. Everyone that has it practically has gone bankrupt because their food has rotted."

That enough for today, grandpa. Here's your mush, let's watch Matlock until you fall asleep.

And that was because the teacher had it wrong on the card she gave him.
I've been saying pretty much forever that you can't judge Trump's intelligence because he's so frickin' ignorant.
I was wrong. He really is that stupid.
It's more like... you can't judge what Trump actually believes by what he says because truth and what he actually believes have little to do with what passes his lips, especially in a public setting.

Both his words and actions do indeed strongly indicate that he is extremely stupid, though. What he has is shamelessness, the well tested tactics of authoritarians, having been born with a golden spoon in his mouth, and a massive cult that people with ill intentions have been cultivating for generations that he took advantage of.

Donald announces he will not attend his son's wedding

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so. I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time. Congratulations to Don and Bettina! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Trump's slush fund--err, compensation for weaponization of the DOJ against Trump allies--runs into stiff opposition from the Senate:

“It was a screaming fest,” said a Republican senator, who added the meeting gave GOP colleagues a chance to air their grievances with a top-level Cabinet official, not just over the proposed “anti-weaponization” fund but also over a litany of issues that they believe have made it tougher to defend their majority in the upcoming midterm election.

The senator described President Trump’s decision to endorse state Attorney General Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate Republican primary over Sen. John Cornyn, a highly respected senator and the former Senate GOP whip, as “the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

Now he's got Tillis, Cornyn and Cassidy firmly set against him, along with Rand Paul. John Thune, the Senate Majority Leader is also standing firm on any end runs around the filibuster. Indeed, it seems like the Paxton endorsement is like the decision to strike Iran; something that the administration failed to consider any unwanted repercussions.

George Will commented that the Paxton endorsement and the loss of Cassidy makes the GOP even stupider, which he acknowledges was a difficult feat.

Saw something with Trump yammering about his "Arc" this morning. And he always spells it that way, because maybe he once saw the Arc d'Triomphe and think that's how it's spelled.
You know who orderd the Arc de'Triomphe built? Napoleon Bonaparte. It wasn't finished in his lifetime, but Trump's won't be either.
Napoleon is exactly Trump's ideal for governance. Absolute dictator. Crowned himself Emperor.
The analogy of course falls apart in that Napoleon was a military genius. Trump is a military imbecile.

Napoleon, despite his numerous faults, was an intelligent and capable administrator who left France and a good part of the world the Napoleonic Code, also called Civic Code.

Will it end as badly as in the Stephen King's novel "Under the Dome" ?
