But.. Trump told us to, so we are. Also, the Dems never weaponized the FCC, but we're saying they did to make it sound less wrong on our part.

Not quite. Just outright weaponization.

FWIW, the FCC likely did go after Republican media a LOT more than Democratic Party media. It shouldn't even be close, honestly.

There's two major reasons for that, though.

1) Republican propaganda relies very heavily on lies and deceit. The fallacies are pretty much omnipresent and that is largely because such is necessary when propping up a world view that rests almost completely on fantasy. Those controlling Republican media are largely unscrupulous rich people who are continually working to concentrate more and more power into their hands, which means that they keep working to push more and more. Democratic Party media? No need for deceit like that and the owners tend to be of a notably different breed.

2) Republican propaganda outlets are pretty much omnipresent. In comparison, there are relatively few Democratic Party propaganda outlets in the first place and they mostly have very little reach on top of that. Rather, democrats are far more likely to pay attention to the MSM than more partisan outlets. Also, to be clear, the mainstream media aren't even remotely close to being Democratic Party propaganda outlets, after all, not least because of how far they bend over backwards to sane-wash the Republican Party. This is normally in effect even when they publish notably more negative articles about Republican actions than positive ones.

Naturally, any criticism at all is too much for the thin-skinned on the far right, though, because truth, the good of the country, and upholding principle are not things that they actually care about in the first place, just power.
