Most modern car entertainment systems are Android based. There will be an app you can install for free if you want it.

ETA. just checked, my 2yo BYD EV has AM radio functionality. I've never used it. :)

See, this I can actually get behind. It's off in whogivesa-◊◊◊◊-sville, no one really cares about it, and it's in second place. That should piss Trump off more than make him happy. It's also in Texas and the only idiots that are going to see it and admire it are going to be replaced by automation in the next 10-15 years. Let them have it and stay away from the John F. Kennedy Center.

Even if there's an emergency I wouldn't think to change my radio station to AM. I'd look at my cell phone, and if that were down then I know ◊◊◊◊ has hit the fan anyway.

Absolutely, Cornyn is like 75 years old. Conservatives always talk about fiscal responsibility but don't find it wasteful to piss away taxpayer money renaming some horse ◊◊◊◊ highway?

There is currently no law requiring a radio of any kind in a new car. Technically, they are options, but no one will buy a car without some sort of entertainment system in it.

Personally, I do use the AM radio in my car. Ironically, it's to listen to NPR. (Most of the time, I use Sirius XM lately: Little Steven's Underground Garage.) My wife prefers a local FM station.

Talk, news, and sports radio tends to be on AM stations. I don't think they get the listener density that top 40 and country music stations get, so the longer range of AM probably broadens their market area quite a bit.

Anyway, I like having AM radio in my car, but I don't think it should be legally required. For those who need/want it in there are aftermarket options. If enough customers want it, the car companies will bring it back.

Interesting how neither party really likes to let the market decide some of this stuff.

I think it’s funny that he’s been taking a government paycheck for 23 years but has the audacity to criticize someone who has come from a family that had to work their way up and earn their place here.

NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump won’t have to pay an $83 million defamation award to a longtime advice columnist until the U.S. Supreme Court gets a chance to review the case or reject an appeal, according to a court entry Tuesday.

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals agreed to a request by one of Trump’s lawyers that it let the president delay the payment to E. Jean Carroll, though it required that Trump post a $7.4 million bond to cover any additional interest costs, a request Carroll’s attorney had made.

The appeals court late last month refused Trump’s request for a rare meeting of the full 2nd Circuit to hear an appeal of a three-judge panel’s affirmance of the January 2024 verdict.

Afterward, Trump attorney Justin D. Smith asked the 2nd Circuit to stay the effect of its decision upholding the award so that Trump would not be forced to pay the judgment before the high court has a chance to consider an appeal.
