Trump's Second Term

President Trump said earlier that he's "left instructions" if Iran assassinates him

"That would be a terrible thing for them to do, not because of me. If they did that, they would be obliterated. That would be the end. I've left instructions."

"There wouldn't be anything left."

So these instructions are valid only if an Iranian assassinates you, Donny? What if your assassin is, perhaps, a US citizen with a lawfully owned gun? Or a Russian tourist with a poisoned umbrella? Or a Chinese diplomat slipping something into your Diet Coke? Or some Saudi pilots flying kidnapped aircraft into buildings? (This does sound like an international version of Cluedo, doesn't it!)

Or is it you simply can't tell one Middle Eastern country from another, and they are all called "Iran" because you can't remember the countries' names and it's just simple and convenient for your pachinko brain to think of every brown person as "Iran" these days?

Moron. You'll be dead, and nobody is going to implement your stupid instructions from beyond the grave.

FULL SPEECH BY TRUMP:

“Military operations will continue until all of our objectives are achieved.

The entire military command is gone, and many want to surrender.

The U.S. will avenge the deaths of Americans.”

Trump to Iranian people: “The rest will be up to you, but we will be with you.

Message for Iran: Trump cannot be trusted any further than you can roll him with your left hand.

I clearly stated I would not be discussing the matter further and why which is exactly what I predicted, yet you don't want to let it go. So, yes, you seem to want a confrontation. So have the last word and then please stop as you'll get no further response from me on the matter.
Okay. Last word.

More seriously, though, you shouldn't have responded to my polite correction, then, much less in the hostile and problematic manner that you have done so, if this is what you're trying to end things with.

You want to bring up your statement about not discussing things further and why? Okay. Here it is.

I don't agree. I'd usually ask for evidence for that kind of hyperbolic claim, but I don't want to get into a derail and the tedious back and forth which would certainly ensue. So, I won't be commenting on it again.

That didn't address what I said. That also didn't apply to what I said. There was no good reason at all to have any tedious back and forth to my comment at all, which was, as a reminder -

It's worth noting that what you quoted did not claim that MAGA cultists are centrists. You take issue with the prediction that self-described centrists will act in the same way as MAGA cultists in this instance? Okay. Feel free to object. I'd like to say please don't make your objection something that doesn't really apply there, though.

What I said is, in short, that your stated objection is based on a misreading, at best. It's hard to learn from mistakes that you didn't know that you made, after all. No action or response was actually needed, though a "Oops, my mistake, but my overall point is still a good one" would have been fine and good and would have been the end. Yet, you chose to create a tedious back and forth anyways, which has led us to this.

To be clear, there's no need to respond to this post and you said you won't, but I do still hope that you will learn from your mistakes for the future, which is what my original post was about, too.

Smith: This is the most cavalier manner that any president has ever gone to war in the history of this country. I mean, he does an eight minute truth social post at 2AM and then basically drops the mic and walks away and lets the war go.

I, as the ranking member of the House armed services committee, still have not heard from anybody from the Department of Defense, nor has Chairman Mike Rogers,

Do you think the stupid ◊◊◊◊◊ in this corrupt administration underestimated Iran's ability to strike back? I think yes.

There's a tantalising parallel with Russia's bombardment of Ukraine. 4 years of that now and Ukraine hasn't capitulated, and is still eagerly lobbing stuff back to considerable effect. Iran, like Ukraine, now (or soon) no longer has a naval surface fleet but, again like Ukraine, finds denying its coastal waters to anyone doesn't actually need warships.

Sure, the US plus Israel is a lot better equipped than Russia, but they're trying to force Iran's capitulation without putting boots on the ground (and consequently bodies in bags) which is a pretty severe handicap.

I'm genuinely worried the Trump regime have no idea how big a can of worms they just blew the lid off, and are not likely willing to do what they'll need to do to un-soup this particular fish.

See line 2 of my sig.

Trump really doesn’t care about “losers”
The president lamented the death of three U.S. service members, the first Americans to die in the conflict, explaining there “likely will be more.”

His instructions don't matter. It'd be up to Vance.
