Trump's Second Term

A metaphor for both Trump's and Hegseth tenure.

Destroying a priceless piece of history because of impatience and carelessness
I still think the reflecting pool debacle is the perfect image of Trump's administration; grandiosity, corruption, incompetence, trying to hide the very expensive failure, blaming everyone else.
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

So sad to see the beloved Central Park Horse-drawn Carriage Industry ending after over a Century, based largely on one tragic accident.
When there is a car accident in the area, of which there are many, they don't stop cars from entering the Park.
So why would they stop the Carriages? It was a Great Tradition.

Another piece of History that's gone. It will be missed!

President DONALD J. TRUMP
Like all the pieces of History you ◊◊◊◊◊◊ up, such as the White House, for instance? I really don't think those horse carriages will be missed. The White House, on the other hand? Yes, that really is so sad.

Re: Jared Kushner's questionable dealings in the middle east...
'Incredible reporting, and if Democrats have any sense, they will pull on these threads and learn a lot more about this money.'

So nothing will happen?
That's the nature of dealing with the Trump administration. There is just SO much corruption and incompetence, and there are limits to what can be investigated (time in various congressional committees, public attention span, etc.)

Spend the time looking into Kushner, and you end up with less attention to issues surrounding the Iran war, abuses by ICE agents, and JD Vance's questionable interactions with the couch in the oval office.

I can't see him cutting his losses on this court case; that doesn't seem to be his style.
I could see him voluntarily ending the BBC case.

He likes to fight legal battles where he has the upper hand (more money to spend on lawyers, political influence, etc.). However, the BBC has shown more backbone than many others in standing up to Trump. He does not have the upper hand. He cannot bully them, his chance of winning is slim, and sitting for a deposition will only cause embarasment if new stuff was dragged into the public view.

Ending the case, then whining endlessly on Trooth Social about the "left wing biased judges" and how he REALLY wanted to do the deposition but the meany judge wouldn't let him is probably the best he can do.
Remembering the reflecting pool 'vandalism' case, Trump does like to ride the fail train all the way to the depot. Whether he fantasizes some last minute magic will turn his inevitable loss into a win, I can't imagine. Perhaps he gets a kick out of knowing he's avoiding giving the other side the relief of knowing the vexatious shenanigans are over.
I think the difference with the reflecting pool case is that it had less personal involvement and less damage caused by pursuing the case. He himself wasn't called to testify in court about the vandalism and there would be little more added bad publicity by pushing for prosecution.

@realDonaldTrump

Vivek Ramaswamy put up a very powerful Ad about a mother saying that her daughter, Amy Acton, who is running for Governor of Ohio, is a liar, and much worse....
To be honest I have no idea who got harmed more by this post, Trump or Ramaswamy.

Trump is a toxic individual right now, with personal approval ratings hitting new lows on a regular basis, acting as an albatross to republican politicians in the midterms. Other republicans have made efforts to remove references to Trump from their campaign; Ramaswamy should likewise want to avoid anyone associating him with Trump.

On the other hand, given Trump's former friendship with Epstein, you would figure any more publicity as a "pedophile protector" would probably not go over well.
