Trump's Second Term

Because he doesn't want the files released, but knows he is going to lose the House vote, probably by a lot of votes. So he comes out ahead of the House vote saying "Vote to release the files!" and takes credit for something he doesn't want to happen but he is powerless to stop.

After that, he will put pressure on the GOP Senate to block the bill, and if that doesn't work the DOJ can step in with some sort of BS, and if that doesn't work there is the Presidential Veto.
He's already said he won't veto it--not that that means anything but it's clear his tactic now is to pretend he is totally fine with releasing the files, while working behind the scenes to ensure they are as scrubbed and redacted as possible.

He's a crazy man and no one in the administration has the balls to stop him.

On the other hand... There's a political value to convincing opponents you're crazy enough to do just about anything, because it scares them off testing you. Though one down side is if you never follow through, people may start to say you always chicken out.

It doesn't mean you're not actually nuts of course. And nor does it mean you're playing 4D chess. It might just mean you have handlers who encourage you to feel free to goad opponents a bit because they hate it when they don't know how far you'll go.

I recall news that his Administration diverted a lot of federal employees away from their normal, useful duties to work to effectively scrub the Epstein Files of damning information on Trump a fair while ago, now, by means like blackening out Trump's name and withholding a huge portion of the Files from release. It would be no surprise for them to have gone further than that by now, of course.

Serves only Macdonald's

Trump at the McDonald's summit: "As you may have heard, I'm also one of your all time most loyal customers. I really am. I think that's good. I'm pretty sure that's good. While other politicians fly around on campaign planes stocked with expensive catering, on Trump Force 1 we served only McDonald's"

Pay me millions.

Trump during his speech on affordability: "In the old days, McDonald's and many others would call me to do this kind of thing -- 'come over and say some words and talk' -- and they'd pay me millions of dollars."

Trump to McDonald’s Franchise Owners: The minimum wage thing.. you’re going to have to fight… You people probably know the impact good or bad. Let your local congressmen know about it.

Ditto.

He made the French Fries

Trump: "They had the line. The people had no idea. So I made the french fries. The guy was really good. He had a great wrist. He's going like, 'Sir -- nyha. Hhhhuh.' It was not that easy but I got it sort of finally. Not the greatest. But pouring it in."

Easily do. Usually alongside several other significantly more complicated jobs. When I was young, I had jobs in a couple different fast food stores, where I did a variety of jobs for all of them. Popping some French Fries into the basket, gently putting them into the oil to cook, starting the timer, then getting them out and dumping them into the fries spot when the timer beeped was usually the work of a few seconds total, with most of the time cooking spent on other tasks, unless we had a notable lull. Scooping the tool into the fries to get them and then putting the fries into the box was also the work of a couple seconds. Everything with fries was super easy. Trump saying that he sorta got it finally really just makes me sorry for the people who had to babysit him when he did that McDonald's cosplay photo-op a while back.
