Trump's Second Term

I'm not sure - is the concept of a plan really better than lots of great ideas? But then I am quite not sure I am completely updated on the official planning phraseology hierachy, though, so I will rely on your, obviously, superior, expertise, and will also take the opportunity to yhank for your attention to this matter.

to me the concept of a plan isn’t any different than trust me we have ideas

Is anyone really that gullible?

Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work with us."

Do you really believe that you ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ idiot???

She's one of the two Senators from my state, New Hampshire, who are among the eight turncoats who voted for this.

The list of the turncoats:

Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois

Sen. Angus King of Maine

Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia

Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire

Sen. Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire

Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada

Sen. Jacky Rosen of Nevada

Shaheen is not running for reelection. Good riddance. Hassan is up in 2028. I hope the Dems primary her.

The new American Dream is to be successful enough that you are able to leave the USA :( . The brain drain going forward is going to be horrific, especially with the apparent state of education (from what I've been able to gather from concerned teachers in social media and some scattered news reports) for those growing up today.
Sounds like the plot for an episode of Black Mirror, where the Great Replacement conspiracy theory comes true when the dirty war to stop Hispanic immigration finally succeeds, but at a cost of making daily life in the US so horrible that there's a repeat of 1960s "white flight", this time not from cities to suburbs but out of the US entirely.

You'd need a logarithmic scale irony meter.

He also says in this clip, "These are the people who raided Mar-a-Lago and found nothing."

Rep. Michael Rulli: "Jack Smith, in my opinion, this is treasonous. Let that word sink it. That's what this is. Jack Smith and his little clownies will destroy this republic ... they say with the snake, you cut off the head. If he's leading this, we have to let future people know we're not gonna put up with this."

Will no man rid me of this turbulent prosecutor?

Democrats Rage at ‘Pathetic’ Shutdown ‘Betrayal’ in Mass Backlash

Eight members of the Democratic caucus, who backed a late-night deal aimed at reopening the government and ending the 40-day shutdown, have ignited backlash from inside their own coalition, with critics slamming the move as a “pathetic” surrender.

The shutdown, the longest in U.S. history, had been framed by Democrats as a last stand over healthcare. They claimed they were holding out to force the extension of Affordable Care Act subsidies that lapse at the end of the year. Instead, the agreement clinched last night punts the entire issue to a separate vote next month, which many believe will fail.

The reaction from top Democrats across the country was fury.

The average monthly SNAP benefit is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit is up to $550 a person/mo.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

Working people want leaders whose word means something.

I got back to my office after the vote tonight and recorded this. There's no way to sugarcoat what happened tonight. And my fear is that Trump gets stronger, not weaker, because of this acquiescence. I'm angry – like you. But I choose to keep fighting. pic.twitter.com/EsfvvDH3VD

California Governor Gavin Newsom summed up his disgust in a one-word tweet:

Pathetic.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker echoed him: “This is not a deal — it’s an empty promise”:

This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. https://t.co/hLiMKgkc8i

Progressives in Congress have now widened their fire, not only at Republicans, but at their own leaders. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) even called for Senate Democrats to replace Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

— Ro Khanna (@RoKhanna) November 10, 2025
I agree. My state's senators, Shaheen, and Hassan, can go ◊◊◊◊ off!

I know I said I wouldn't make any more post about food banks, but I just got back from mine, and the place was actually packed with food!!!

Safeway/Albertsons donated a crap load of food, including a lot of fresh vegetables and fruit! Good for them!!

(the same thing happened last week too)

The survey found that 63 per cent of Americans aged between 18 to 34 wish to move out of the US and reported being sad about living in the country. Fifty-three per cent of parents also said that they would like to relocate

Way back in 2015 I posted on this forum that if Trump won the election I was moving to Canada, which I can see from my chair. But my minimal research suggested they weren't very welcoming. I should have tried harder.

Donald tells Air Traffic Controllers they are getting a bad mark and will be replaced without severance pay by true Patriots.

This is the American president. Communicating via a social media site. In my mind this totally ties in with another discussion here:

Enough is enough! How do we stop this insanity?!?
