Ultimately, things MIGHT work in the democrats favor...

Assuming Republicans continue their plan to cut subsidies (and fail to bring in any sort of realistic health care plans of their own), health care insurance costs are going to increase. Given how concerned people are about inflation, this will make the republicans look even worse going into next year's mid-terms. That could help the Democrats pick up more seats in congress.

So, some democrats capitulated for the political equivalent of some magic beans, but could work better in the long run.

Probably a pretty useless action from Stubby McBonespurs...

- None of those people were facing any real jeopardy at the federal level, since I doubt Trump's DoJ would be pursuing charges against any of them in the next few years (and if/when a democrat takes over, it would have been almost a decade and I can't see them bothering to pursue new charges, assuming they haven't passed the statute of limitations.)

- There are some charges at the state level, that Trump's pardon does not impact.

- There are other legal issues facing these people (such as Giuliani's various civil suits and disbarment), but the pardon only affects criminal cases, not civil.

Certainly sounds foolish to trust the party of Trump.

Hopefully its just a cynical ploy... pretend to engage in bipartisanship with the knowledge it will cause the republicans more grief in the future.

I'm not sure - is the concept of a plan really better than lots of great ideas? But then I am not quite sure I am completely updated on the official planning phraseology hierachy, though, so I will rely on your, obviously, superior, expertise, and will also take the opportunity to yhank for your attention to this matter.

The new American Dream is to be successful enough that you are able to leave the USA :( . The brain drain going forward is going to be horrific, especially with the apparent state of education (from what I've been able to gather from concerned teachers in social media and some scattered news reports) for those growing up today.
