Trump's Second Term

he knows who cz is. even an addled trump will remember making hundreds of millions from his crypto venture off a bribe for a pardon. possibly one of the most openly corrupt actions he’s taken to date.

that he thinks denying it and acting like he’s pardoning people he doesn’t know anything about is a better look is telling.

here is a video that breaks down the relationship between trump, cz, binance, and world liberty financial’s stablecoin trade. just for some context on the pardon as it relates to their business deals. i know a lot of people don’t follow crypto and what’s going on in that space, but the idea that trump doesn’t know cz or his situation is comical.

It is so. You know what else is illegal? Fraud. 34 counts of it in fact.
All based on one party claiming that the value of property is not what the other party claimed it was. Tell me how we could know what the actual property values were? The entire prosecution of this case is questionable. Stacking state misdemeanor (falsifying business records) with an uncharged state election law violation (conspiracy to influence an election), which was itself predicated on uncharged federal or state violations, is contentious.
@Opcode is confused.

Donald Trump's criminal case, in which he was convicted of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, had nothing to do with property values.

@Opcode appears to think Trump's criminal convictions had something to do with the civil case in which Donald J Trump, Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, Allen Weisselberg, Jeffrey McConney, the Donald J Trump Revocable Trust, the Trump Organization Inc, Trump Organization LLC, DJT Holdings LLC, DJT Holdings Managing Member, Trump Endeavor 12 LLC, 401 North Wabash Venture LLC, Trump Old Post Office LLC, 40 Wall Street LLC, and Seven Springs LLC were found liable under the second, third, fourth, fifth, and seventh causes of action. In that civil case, it was the second cause of action that accused the defendants of fraud by
  • pretending Mar-a-Lago could be assigned a value as though it were a private residence
  • pretending Trump's Triplex apartment was 30,000 square feet instead of its actual 10,996 square feet
  • pretending he had permission to build 2500 private residences in Aberdeen, when the true number was 500
  • pretending 40 Wall Street had a net income of $64 million when it was actually operating at a deficit
Those were the four facts in the second cause of action for which Donald Trump was found to be personally liable. But this was a civil case.

In the criminal case, which was an entirely separate proceeding, Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to conceal his hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. That criminal case was not only the first case in which a (former) US president was convicted of a felony; it was also the first time a (former) US president was held in criminal contempt of court.

You are incorrect; ridiculously incorrect. A misdemeanor can be punished by up to a year in jail. A felony can be punished by more than a year in prison. Both generate a criminal record.
That is why President Donald J Trump has a criminal record: He was convicted of 34 felonies.

Trump tariffs could add $40 billion to holiday shoppers’ and sellers’ costs, LendingTree warns

Trump tariffs could add $40 billion to holiday shoppers’ and sellers’ costs, LendingTree warns

American consumer wallets will be billions of dollars lighter this holiday season because of President Donald Trump’s tariffs, according to LendingTree.

Sunday marked six months since Trump announced his broad “liberation day” tariffs.

Prices for select food and consumer goods rose in the wake of that announcement.

And consumers are set to see more of the impact from those tariffs as holiday items that have been stored in warehouses for months are finally hitting store shelves.

LendingTree, which operates on an online lending marketplace, used 2024 winter holiday spending data as a reference point for its analysis of the upcoming season.

The company estimated that the new tariffs will increase total holiday costs for consumers and retailers by a total of $40.6 billion.

Consumers will be on the hook for most of the extra costs from tariffs, an estimated $28.6 billion.

That translates to around $132 per shopper.

So people will buy less. That's good for the economy, right?

In fairness it must get confusing for his supporters, remembering just which one of Trump's numerous transgressions of the law they're handwaving away at any time.

Does he know anything about anything?

RAJU: Last week you were very critical of Biden's use of the autopen & pardons. But Trump admitted on 60 Minutes to not knowing he pardoned a crypto billionaire who pleaded guilty to money laundering. Does that also concern you?

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know anything about that. I didn't see the interview. I'm not sure.

Mike Johnson: "If they had no filibuster impediment, they would pack the Supreme Court. You'd go from 9 to 13 to 15 to 17 or however many liberals they could pack on the Court. You would see DC and Puerto Rico made into states, which would give 4 additional Democrat senators and make us a permanent minority. You'd see massive restrictions of 2nd Amendment rights."

Has there ever been a more punchable face in American history?

Hate to break it to you mr. punchable face, but Republicans are already a permanent minority.
