Trump's Second Term

You mean, other than the words you put in front of and behind it. Almost like I was replying to what you wrote, instead of the Trump quote.
No I mean what Diaper Don was implying with his demented, racist, inflammatory rhetoric,
You reveal what kind of person you are by cutting off everything else and pretending that Portland just had dumpster fires. Your position can't be taken seriously.
I cut off the bits about crime and other issues one can observe in many major cities including red ones, concentrating on Trump's imbecillic lie that Chicago is the most dangerous city in the world. You reveal what kind of person thinks Portland and Chicago are war zones, and that is a person who consumes only cult-friendly media outlets.

Unless, well, see post #32167

I rejoined this forum just a few weeks ago. I haven't taken the time to read all 800+ pages of this thread, so I may have missed some of your earlier comments. What I read was you casting the government shutdown on one side wanting health care funding and the other side lying about illegal immigration. My reply is based on the current protests over ICE.
To make it a bit more directly clear - the lie in question is, in short, the Republican lie that the health care funds that the Republicans are trying to cut and the Democrats don't want cut go to illegal immigrants. It was and is extremely disingenuous as a claim and as an attempted defense for the Republicans' actions.

Among the many far more real and relevant effects of the Republican cuts is that a lot of rural hospitals are or will close, regardless, which just amplifies the harm and suffering for disproportionately Republican rural areas.

Trump:

July 19, 2020
“We’re signing a health care plan within two weeks, a full and complete health care plan that the Supreme Court decision on DACA gave me the right to do.”

Aug. 3, 2020:
“I do want to say that we’re going to be introducing a tremendous health care plan sometime prior – hopefully, prior to the end of the month. It’s just completed now. We’ll be doing, sometime during this month, the health care plan. And I think that’ll be before the end of the month. And I think it’ll be very impressive to a lot of people.”

Aug. 7, 2020
"Citing his two-week timeline once again, Trump said during a press briefing that he would pursue a major executive order in the next two weeks “requiring health insurance companies to cover all preexisting conditions for all customers.” Trump also said that covering preexisting conditions had “never been done before,” despite the ACA provisions outlining protections for people who have preexisting conditions being among the law’s most popular components."

Sept. 24, 2020
"Under the America First Healthcare Plan, we will ensure the highest standard of care anywhere in the world, cutting-edge treatments, state-of-the-art medicine, groundbreaking cures, and true health security for you and your loved ones. And we will do it rapidly, and it’s in very good order, and some of it has already been implemented."

Sept, 2024 debate
"I have concepts of a plan."

Yeah, go on and compare Obama to Trump on healthcare plan lying. Millions of people who had no insurance now have it under the ACA while Trump has "concepts" he'll release in his usual "two weeks". The man wants to repeal the ACA because his hatred of Obama is more important that Americans' lives. Petty little man-child.
Don't forget: "The Republican party will be known as the party of healthcare" DJT - 3/26/19.

For larger context here, the BLM protests were overwhelmingly peaceful.
Except for when they weren't. A billion dollars in damages (between BLM and Antifa) doesn't just disappear by claiming that most of the protests were peaceful. A billion dollars still is a lot of damage!
Further, there were organized campaigns to deceive people -
Oh, we have plenty of that going around all over the place!
When it comes to the issue of violence, the major causes largely tended to involve deliberate tactics to escalate the situation.
Police, especially in Portland, did not do enough to crack down on violent individuals.
On a more direct note, the heavy handed handling of the protests in Portland can be fairly blamed as the main reason for the severity and longevity of the problems there.
The Portland DA released nearly all arrested protestors almost as fast as police arrested them. That's not heavy-handed treatment; that's complicity!
Is deeply, deeply misleading about cause, effect, and association at very best.
The reason that Donald Trump has been elected twice is that most of the voters in those elections are sick of this delusional garbage that people like you keep pretending is true.

Fine. But as a reply to that specific post it misses. To be clear, what I hear as the argument regarding that specific issue which is the specific issue causing the shutdown, is that the Republican leadership is lying about the reason the Democrats want to preserve the healthcare funding, and with reckless dishonesty claiming that the intention is to provide free health benefits to illegal aliens.

Current protests over ICE are another matter, and I'm sure we can find plenty to disagree with there, but it's not what I was posting about here.

Well, you should take that up with Ivan Harrison Hunter and his buddies.

Thanks for confirming that you don't understand how escalation works or how it creates violence where it wouldn't have happened!

Also, that releasing bit? You're talking about this?

Peaceful Portland protesters will not be prosecuted to avoid ‘irreparable harm,’ DA announces

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office will decline to prosecute cases against protesters in which the most serious offense does not include property damage, theft, threats or use of force against another person, District Attorney Mike Schmidt said Tuesday. Charges of resisting arrest and assaulting a public safety officer will be further scrutinized before prosecution, he said.

Peaceful protestors were arrested and then released. Those not so peaceful are another matter. The releasing of peaceful protestors is what you condemn?

Many protestors who were accused of violent crimes were released, too. Of the more than 1000 protestors arrested by local authorities, more than 90% were dismissed or not pursued by the District Attorney's office.

As of the close of the day on October 20, my positive/negative score on the Trump administration stands at -1,613.

20 October 2025

-2: Trump bulldozes the entire century-old east wing of the White House (-2 for illegal)
-1: Trump blames China’s refusal to buy American soybeans on the Biden administration [840]
-1: Trump brags that he’s “settled eight wars” (spoiler: no, he hasn’t) [841]
-1: Mike Johnson makes the baseless claim the No Kings Day protests advocated for violence against Trump [842]
-1: Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) says Soros is “writing the cheques” behind people “facilitate riots” [843]
-1: Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) echoes line that the No Kings Day protests are funded George Soros [844]
-1: Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) calls for a “free market competition” to the healthcare industry [845]
-1: Fox News claims each of the 7 million No Kings Day protestors was paid $500 to show up [846]
-1: Headline: RFK Jr.’s ‘chemtrails’ probe shows the power conspiracy theories have to shape health policy (PolitiFact)

References:
840. Trump: “China stopped buying our soybeans because they thought it was a punishment. And it is punishment to our farmers. We’re not gonna allow that to happen. Biden was an incompetent president.”

841. Q: “Considering the trade surplus that the US enjoys with Australia, would you consider lowering the tariffs?”
Trump: “The tariffs have been amazing because tariffs have been really a reason that I was able to settle almost all of the -- you know, I’ve settled eight wars.”

842. Ted Cruz: “George Soros is writing the checks behind the “No Kings” rallies and countless other groups who engage in or facilitate riots and political violence. It’s time to hold the financiers of political violence accountable. It’s time to pass my Stop FUNDERs Act.”

843. Johnson: “FREE SPEECH is a cherished and protected right in America. But this weekend we saw the far Left advocate for VIOLENCE against a President who’s survived two assassination attempts, and Democrats aligning with these COMMUNIST groups that REJECT everything America stands for. It’s time for Democrats to stop the madness!”

844. Ernst: “I think it is extremely important we look at who is funding these protests. We have to get to the bottom of this. It is a much larger organization. It could be the usual suspect, George Soros.”

845. Fox News: “You’ve gotta get permits. You gotta get police out there. You gotta get the signs. You gotta get the messaging out. To have millions of people out there, that is not a cheap endeavor. And I’ll also say that there is a company called ‘crowds on demand’ that has a CEO and you can pay them to go out and protest for you. Up to $500 a day you can make as a paid protester. This is the reality we’re in. So the question mark is, ‘where did the money come from?’.”

846. Ron Johnson: “Let’s bring free market competition back into the healthcare industry. Let’s bring back way more consumer choice. Rick Scott, an expert in healthcare, he’s working with people like myself and the White House, let’s design the Republican plan.”
19 October 2025
-1: Trump posts a juvenile video of him flying a jet aircraft named KING TRUMP and dumping feces on people
-1: Mike Johnson defends Trump’s video [838]
-1: Rep Chip Roy (R-TX) says the No Kings Day protestors can’t handle the idea that “Jesus is King” [839]
-1: Headline: We Found That More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. (ProPublica)

References:
838. Q: “What does it say that president released a video of him pooping on the American people?”
Johnson: “You can argue he’s probably the most effective person who has ever used social media. He’s using satire to make a point. He’s not calling for the murder of his political opponents.”

839. Chip Roy: “The truth is the marxist, radicals, and Islamists the Democratic Party promoted this weekend, they cannot handle the truth. The truth is that there is a king and that king is Jesus. And the president has been willing to say it, and Charlie Kirk was willing to say it and he got killed for it.”

-1: Study finds Trump’s immigration policies could reduce work force by 6.8 million [836]
-1: Approximately 7 million people across the USA participate in No Kings Day rallies and protests
-1: Mike Johnson confirms he will continue to not swear in Adelita Grijalva [837]

References:
836. The Trump administration’s policies on illegal and legal immigration would reduce the projected number of workers in the United States by 6.8 million by 2028 and by 15.7 million by 2035 and lower the annual rate of economic]growth by almost one-third, harming U.S. living standards, according to an analysis by the National Foundation for American Policy. This is the first analysis to project the short-term and long-term impact of the Trump administration’s policies on both illegal and legal immigration.

837. “Karl: I mean, you could swear in Adelita Grijalva tomorrow, right?”
Mike Johnson: “No, not tomorrow. We couldn’t. We wouldn’t.”

Pardoned after conviction? No, only your cult leader did that.
Of the more than 1000 protestors arrested by local authorities, more than 90% were dismissed or not pursued by the District Attorney's office.
Good! Protesting is a constitutionally protected activity. I know, I know your cult leader would like to outlaw all opposition, but for now, ◊◊◊◊ him.

He could if he wanted

O'DONNELL: What does that mean -- 'send more than the National Guard?'

TRUMP: Well, if you had to send in the Army or the Marines, I'd do that in a heartbeat. We have a thing called the Insurrection Act. I could use that immediately and no judge can even challenge you on that. If I wanted to I could

Wow, that guy gets around! He's as powerful as Soros!

Talking about Soros, do you know where I can go to get paid for all the protests I've attended (All were nonviolent too)?

I mean, I even called the Soros Foundation, and they don't pay for that.

Go ahead and call them yourself, or are you afraid to learn the truth?

Violent protesting is not a Constitutionally protected activity.
