Trump's Second Term

Actually, I do think there is a grain of truth in this. Trump is using his tariff powers to force warring countries to negotiating table, and it has worked in some cases, notably Thailand/Cambodia. Both parties agrees on this, but at the same time none of them really wanted a war, but wanted make a point for their home audience.
I hear Canada has finally surrendered.

yesterday a reporter asked Donald about the writ of habeas corpus, and he had no idea what it was.

"I don't know," he said. "I'd rather leave that to Kristi."

Well, It turns out Sen. Hassan asked Kristi about it in May, and this was Noem's response:

HASSAN: What is habeas corpus?

NOEM: Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country

Besides being the most corrupt administration, it has to be the dumbest overall.

I can't disagree with that hopeful meme except for the conclusion "don't be scared of this pathetic boy".

If I got on a bus and found it was being driven by a an elderly labrador, I wouldn't be scared of the dog but I'd still be scared.
I'd feel more hopeful if Dump was in charge and everything would go back to normal when he finally croaked or was 25th'ed. This is more like a bus with an elderly labrador as the designated driver, but that's actually driven by a drunk methhead who's driving you to the shadiest part of town to be trafficked.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has said that a boat recently bombed by the US was "Colombian with Colombian citizens inside", an allegation the White House called "baseless".

The White House said in a statement that it "looks forward to President Petro publicly retracting his baseless and reprehensible statement".

Besides being the most corrupt administration, it has to be the dumbest overall.

There was an Order of the Stick comic that poked fun at 4e Dungeons & Dragons with the statement "Anything is possible if you abandon any attempt at verisimilitude."
For this administration it's"You can do anything if you ignore how things actually work."

Trump kinda dropped the ball on that when he admitted "There are no boats anymore. Frankly, there are no fishing boats. There are no boats out there period, if you want to know the truth. Does anybody go fishing anymore?" He's saying nobody dares go out on the water as they believe the US will just arbitrarily kill them. And we have no reason to believe these dead people were positively identified in any way, but rather were targeted because they were deemed to be behaving in a sufficiently smuggler-like manner to deserve an instant death sentence.

So you have one president saying it appears his country's citizens were killed and you have another president saying everyone there knows their life is in danger because they absolutely do believe he'll just bomb anyone he doesn't like the look of.

And for some reason the White House wants Petro to withdraw his statement instead of justifying its own killings like some kind of civilised regime might do.

The fact that under trump, the US has LESS credibility than the Colombian government is telling....
(like come on- when the bloody Colombians have more credibility than you, you got REAL issues....)

The ONLY government making 'baseless and reprehensible statement's is the US White House under trump- but nobody (as in literally zero people) ever expect a retraction of the literally MILLIONS of 'incorrect statements' aka LIES made by trump and his officials....

How far has the US fallen- they have literally ZERO credibility left on the world stage...

I don't know, 250 dollar bill? Why not make it a 100 000 bill, so those people getting the tech bros jobs can pay for the visa?
I would put him on a 45 cent currency bill. Because he is worth less than two bits, and it would be only joke money.

It's not a new thought. I remember a thread a long time ago discussing how someone had suggested the US Air Force strafe every single boat on the Somali coast to deal with the piracy problem. Predictably, there were people (eta: on this forum) who wholeheartedly agreed with the idea.

I'm sure that if Trumpolini suggested the US just wantonly sink every boats bound for the US from Venezuela (or, heck, Central and South America as a whole), you'd have posters here cheering that on, too.

No, I prefer the $100 000 bill. Will be useful for the crippling inflation the Dump regime might bring about.

Maybe new banknote designs should be prepared in a whole series of denominations, each 10x greater than the last, in case they're needed to cope with Trump-induced hyperinflation. The whole wad could form a flip book with an animated figure of Trump turning around and finally mooning on the eleventy bazillion dollar bill.

Oh! Oh! Oh! Pick me! Just print the bills with extra space so you can add zeroes with a sharpie as needed to keep up with inflation!

Hegseth: "There's no other way to create that kind of love and enthusiasm than with your leadership, sir. And it is an honor to work with Pam and Kristi in these cities across the country to make sure American citizens and law enforcement are protected with our National Guard. That's a core mission."
