Oregon general’s testimony that National Guard troops ‘will be protecting any protesters’ gains traction online

Brigadier General Alan R. Gronewold made the comments to state lawmakers Sept. 30, and they drew notice on social media this week.

Gronewold said Guard soldiers serve two purposes: “One, to defend America, and two, to protect Oregonians. And so by serving in this mission, they will be protecting any protesters at the ICE facility.”

Gronewold, for his part, noted that the president’s federalization meant the soldiers would be taken out of his chain of command and placed under the control of the U.S. Northern Command.



He said Trump’s social media post authorizing “full force” by the soldiers was unclear, as the term is “not a doctrinal term that the Army uses.”



Gronewold closed out his remarks by asking lawmakers to spread a message about the difference between local troops and federal law enforcement agents.



“We’re the home team, and our job is to protect and serve Oregonians, and we follow lawful orders, and that’s what we’re doing,” he said. “Please treat them with dignity and respect.”

Meanwhile ICE is making arrests in Chicago. No word on whether Governor Pritzker interposed himself. Maybe the arrestees weren't his people.

It would be hilarious if this new J6 committee labels all the violent insurrectionists who beat and pepper sprayed police as antifa agitators.

Of course Trump already pardoned them all so what does he do? Try to convict them again and send them back to prison?

More likely, they end up being ceaselessly harassed by their fellow MAGAs for the rest of their lives for being antifa. AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA

Can you get other were-stuff? Like maybe a were-Tucker Carlson? Whatever it is must be pretty horrifying, since when the creature turns back into Trump they think that's actually better and it's fit to be seen in public again.

Trump is experiencing a rapid mental and physical decline. He had some medical procedure recently when he disappeared for 6 days that has been propping him up but he’s basically on life support and from the look of him it’s not going to keep him going for 3 more years. All the kings horses and all the kings men can’t put Humpty Dumpty back together again. The body can only endure so much abuse before it finally gives up. He has used up his body just like he has used up this country.

Americans have always admired Presidents who embody the strength and character of this nation.Trump is a tired, weak, sick old man in deep mental decline. Overall, his standing even among Republican has dropped 16 points since the start of the year.His autocratic regime has weak, incompetent leadership in every department; bar none.America deserves so much better.

I think Trump is going deaf. Some medication he is likely taking could be making it worse.
He is already mostly blind, but his vanity would never let him be seen with glasses or a hearing aid.
Of course, impaired hearing and vision accelerate dementia

Trump: The presidential medal of freedom, our highest award outside the congressional medal of honor. I think they are sort of even. One is civilian and one is military. Unfortunately the civilian sometimes is military also because of what we have to go through on the streets of this country
