Trump's promised ICE raids have begun

I've complained of this before. It's bad enough we're being dragged into dystopia, but the insult to injury is that it's not even a dignified dystopia. In fiction, even the worst dystopias have dignity and class. Ming the Merciless speaks like a gentleman. Emperor Palpatine doesn't need a Marine to hold his butt when he climbs steps. Sauron never tweets childish insults about his enemies. These people who have seized power are churls. Villains without class.
It's not just fiction : I've already remarked, in response to the images of Trump dumping excrements on protesters, that I couldn't remember any of the real life uber villains from the worst miserable and chaotic third world countries lowering themselves to that sort of vulgar, childlike and undignified discourses and attitudes.

ICE and Border Patrol agents are already assaulting U.S. citizens in Charlotte, NC… and pretending it’s “routine.”

A man was stopped TWICE by agents. He showed his ID the first time, and they left.

Then ANOTHER group rolled up, smashed his window, ripped him out of his car, and assaulted him… even as the victim, and the man filming, yelled that he had already proven his citizenship.

Only after brutalizing him, and illegally detaining him, did the agents realize he was a citizen… and let him go.

WCNC has since confirmed the incident and interviewed the victim, verifying exactly what happened

On Oct. 2, the second day of the government shutdown, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem arrived at Mount Rushmore to shoot a television ad. Sitting on horseback in chaps and a cowboy hat, Noem addressed the camera with a stern message for immigrants: “Break our laws, we’ll punish you.”

Noem has hailed the more than $200 million, taxpayer-funded ad campaign as a crucial tool to stem illegal immigration. Her agency invoked the “national emergency” at the border as it awarded contracts for the campaign, bypassing the normal competitive bidding process designed to prevent waste and corruption.

Once again a disappointingly large number of comments saying it's her own fault and serves her right.

"Call the cops! He took my wallet and my keys!”

Trump’s lawless ICE goons threaten U.S. citizen with AR-15, steal her car keys & wallet, leave her stranded in the middle of the road. (They then gave them to the police as though they found them)

Sounds a bit indecent for a TV ad.

ICE points multiple weapons directly at woman's head—a U.S. citizen filming their traffic stop.

Agent shoots "less than lethal" bullet into car through open window—pepper ball immediately sends passenger into health crisis.

"I have the right to record," she yells back at them. "This is an illegal traffic stop!"

The incident occurred on North Tryon Street—a major corridor through Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina

Pieces of ◊◊◊◊. What's the old saw? Never point a weapon at anything you aren't willing to destroy. Tells you what these cowards have in mind.

places such as Charlotte could be a powderkeg.

In general, North Carolina is a friendly state relative to gun ownership. Both the state constitution and the federal constitution protect your right to have firearms. And, for the most part, North Carolina authorizes people to openly carry firearms in public with no permit or license required. However, there are restrictions regarding carrying a gun either openly or concealed in certain places. When you own a gun, it’s critical that you know the basics of open and concealed carry gun laws.

At Sandman, Finn & Fitzhugh, our Raleigh criminal lawyers can help you when you have been charged with unlawful carrying of a firearm. If you have been charged with a violation, contact our experienced gun charge attorneys in Raleigh to represent you in this matter. The laws can be difficult to understand and each situation is different; therefore, you need knowledgeable legal representation to make sure your rights are upheld. In this article, we cover the basics of the open carry laws in North Carolina.

What is Open Carry?

Open carry is having a gun that is visible to the public. In North Carolina, the laws authorize people to openly carry firearms in public with no permit or license required. However, carrying a firearm openly is restricted in certain sensitive locations.

Where is Open Carry Allowed?

There are many places in North Carolina where openly carrying a firearm is allowed, such as roadside rest areas. But, counties may regulate the display of firearms on public property and designate areas that are off limits, for example, schools, universities, state and federal parks, and organized sporting and entertainment events.

Inside Vehicles

You can openly carry a weapon in a vehicle. It must be readily seen, easily accessible, and visible, meaning that the gun must be either openly displayed, locked in a glove compartment, locked in the console, or in the trunk. It cannot be under the front seat or in an unlocked glove box or console.

Ice coward brandishes weapon at teen
A 45-year-old Riverside County man, who reportedly works as a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, is accused of illegally detaining a minor at gunpoint while off duty last week.

The Nov. 10 incident, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, played out at around 10:30 pm outside a home in the 32000 block of Daybrook Terrance in Temecula.

Lawyer Greg Kirakosian, who represents the boy and his family, told KTLA that the 17-year-old was driving home after dropping a friend off down the street when he saw the suspect, identified by investigators as Gerardo Rodriguez, pointing a gun at his vehicle, demanding he pull over.

“In the moment, I think he was just scared for his life. He had a gun pulled on him, and he was told to immediately stop or else,” he explained. “Then that same person came up to his driver’s side door and pulled him out at gunpoint.”

In footage of the incident obtained by KTLA, the 45-year-old is seen pulling a gun from his waistband as he walked up the street, pointing it at the teen’s truck and demanding he stop the vehicle while reportedly brandishing his badge.

“Freeze, police,” Rodriguez shouts. “Put the car in f****** park. Get out of the car. Turn it off, get out. You’re speeding in the f****** neighborhood. Come over here, sit down, get your a** down. You have a driver’s license?”
Noem will probably fire Rodriguez . . . for not shooting the kid.

Can they even enforce speeding laws? There has to be some sort of limit on powers, and how the ◊◊◊◊ does the guy know he was speeding anyway?
I don't recall a time where I was stopped for speeding at gunpoint. Maybe it's new policy.

I guess being a federal law enforcement they CAN enforce speeding laws, but it's just kind of rare to see happen. Where I'm from we're about 80 miles from the Canada border, and we have a Border Patrol station here in town (About 4 blocks from my house, actually). I don't think I've ever seen a Border Patrol vehicle pull someone over in town. Same with Sheriff's and Highway Patrol. Does it happen? Yeah, probably, but it's extremely rare. I can't think of a time off the top of my head.
