Whatever he says it will be in celebration of the peaceful transfer of power in the USA. Anyone that is against this process should never be placed in a position of power again.

Then Trump should not be allowed to take office.

Trump and Trumpkins alike threatened incessantly that they would not accept the result of the election if they didn't get their little baby way.

Trump dog-whistled incessantly at the Trumpkins that the election was being stolen from under their noses, and they should do whatever is necessary to prevent or overturn the alleged theft. And I heard Trumpkins respond to the dog-whistles by threatening violent revolt on prime time TV.

But that was back when they thought they were going to lose. Now they just want everyone to be good Americans and "celebrate" the peaceful transfer of power.

That, in a nutshell, is the steaming pile of hypocrisy that is the Trump movement, in all it's fetid clamminess.

The victory of that is nothing to "celebrate".

Where have you been? You accuse Trump of what the left is actually doing. Even in your first sentence you say he shouldn't be allowed to take the office. Trump is once again proven right.

The agony of defeat. ;)

In the middle of the oath, Steve Harvey is going to slowly walk out and say "Ok, folks. I apologize... There's been a terrible error..."

Your comment boils down to "I know you are, but what am I?"

I was right over there, reducing ChrisBFRPKY's statement to an absurdity by simply applying it universally.

See how that works? A universal application of ChrisBFRPKY's statement implies Trump should never be placed in a position of power, having spent half his campaign railing against the "rigged" system, threatening not to accept the "rigged" election results if he didn't get his little baby-man way.

It's going to get pretty tiresome, having to explain everything to you twice. Perhaps a simple "learn to read" will suffice in the future.

Republicans, by and large, are not Kantians.

I've never preferred Kool Aid, thanks anyway.

Asking the "second amendment people" to do something about one's opponent isn't the same thing as asking voters to vote a certain way.

Didn't the "Second Amendment People" do something after Clinton passed the Assault Weapons Ban in 1994? I believe the Democrats lost 8 Senate races and fifty-four House seats, the largest defeat for the Democrat party since 1946 (until 2016 that is)

That is what those "Second Amendment People" can do.

Nice word play, but I think you know exactly what he meant.

Republicans, by and large, are not Kantians.

Just because the word "universalization" occurred in Toontown's post doesn't make it a Kantian argument. Rather, he's pointing out that Chris B's claim was, by its nature, a universal statement and hence he applied it universally.

Aside from that, and this is just my intuition speaking, I'd think that Republicans are naturally a wee bit closer to Kant than to other ethical philosophers. The absolutism that is associated with Kantianism seems to me to be a natural fit for conservatives.

Surely, you don't think they are Utilitarians or Subjectivists!
