I agree. He was trying to intimidate Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia secretary of state. I think the implication was -- if I was Raffensperger -- IF trump somehow triumphs and manages to get himself reelected, "I'm going to jail." :(

trump is like the Brooklyn mafioso who advised someone he was having problems with to "buy a dog." Buy a dog? "That way if your house catches fire in the middle of the night the dog barks and everybody gets out."

This has to make the Electoral Vote objection problematic for the Republicans. There's a point when the craven hypocrisy has to look bad for even the worst Republican.

Trump believes he was robbed. I don't think he's conning in this recording, he's adamant that all his phony evidence is real.

The Godfather movies were number 1 at the box office. They made a LOT of money.
Fewer people will watch a Biden presidency. Everyone knows the ratings will sink, yet they want to say Biden got more votes! That's more rediculous than my misspelling.
 
All right, I listened to the whole thing. Meadows and Trump talk about reconciling the numbers like it's some sort of give and take deal with Trump winning the state.

Those Georgia folks must have had a very hard time holding their tongues, letting Trump ramble on and on about this and that faux evidence, especially when Trump went on and on about why wouldn't they as Republicans want to make Trump the winner.

I think it's very clear, Trump compensated for his ego disaster by internalizing the lie he won and the election was rigged.


There's something else about Trump's attitude that they should want him to win so they should essentially cheat to make it so, this puts a bit of clarity on Graham's calls to all the GOP SoS asking them to find a way to throw the election in Trump's favor.

Unless they wanted to get this all down on tape in feature-length excruciating detail, for the purposes of exposing Trump's (sorry-assed) attempt at coercion of public officials. It's quite clear that Raffensperger, even as a Republican, has zero time for criminals.

  • The President is entitled to an opinion.
  • What a President says doesn't matter.
  • When he informed Raffensperger about legal jeopardy, that was out if concern for Raffensperger.
  • Big deal, all politicians are corrupt. Both sides do it.
  • President Trump is defending democracy, fighting against the biggest scam ever perpetrated.

A couple House Republicans voted to not swear in the members from the contested swing states. I think there were only 2 nay votes.

I don't think that is going to work. If the Dems are ready for their 5 minute speeches the GOP are going to look like fools. Unless there are special rules, this is all going to be televised. The Dems should be able to make the Republicans look stupid and hypocritical to the nation.

The Dems won't have to make the Republicans look bad. They will do a great job of that all by themselves.
