Trump Unshackled!

Fine by me but lets also try to address the polarization of the country as citizens too. I could just be trying to sound optimistic but I'll hope

I'm not sure how that can be done...at least not by the President. Just look at the last 8 years. Obama tried very hard to bring the country together, He wasn't a super left liberal. He wasn't divisive other than the color of his skin.

Have you ever listened to right wing radio or read articles by the Alt Right? There will always be polarization. I like you wish it wasn't as toxic as it has been but the problem won't be solved at the White House.

It is hard to see how to fix that. Certainly, Clinton's election won't help much, since so many people view her as corrupt.

Anyway, let's all hope that the nation gets past this nasty divide. It's not good for our interests. We have to go back to working together.

Yes.
But if the Republicans are having a hard time just working together in their party then I don't have high hopes of their working with Clinton.

You mean up to now he's been shackled?? Good lord. Better hide my kippah before Dump decides to finally reveal the real reason for American impotence.

'The final word, however, belonged to Gore, who Clinton said she “couldn’t wait” to have as a White House adviser on climate change.

Americans have the ability to bring about such a big and important change, the will to change and build a brighter future is itself a renewable resource,” he said, drawing a loud: “That’s a great line, I love that!” from Clinton beside him.'

The anti-Clinton hatred is a strategy that has been in the works for about two decades, now. The Republican party getting trounced this election will send a powerful message that obstruction and intolerance are not going to work any more.

I always have hope. The disarray maybe could lead to a united Democratic party using the Republican split to work with factions of the GOP to actually accomplish things. Maybe.

The problem with the US is right now is that there are two very different groups facing off, and they have almost polar opposite ideas on how things should work.

On one side you have very religious people brought up believing that laws should reflect their moral values, that each person should be self reliant, work hard and build up what they can to support and provide for their family. That the Husband is the head of the traditional two-parent family and that the wife and children should follow his lead.

On the other side you have people that are much less religious, who believe that laws should be reflections of protections for people's right to live their lives as they want. Who believe that to grow and develop we need a village and that it is everyone's responsibility to help everyone else to make sure that everyone in the village is provided for, regardless of their abilities. That families are no longer traditional, with one, two, or more parents, and no necessarily a husband and wife. Who believe that women and children have rights beyond what their husband/father decide, and are able to live as they want, not as they are told too.

I'm not sure how you get these two groups of people to see eye-to-eye when they are pretty much the antithesis of each other.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

Trump "Unshackled".

Trump rampages through Florida

He promised to jail Clinton and her lawyers, while getting to the bottom of Paul Ryan’s ‘sinister deal’ to foil him.
And all manner of other nonsense like:
He also mocked the NFL for its efforts to limit concussions. "Uh! Uh! A little ding in the head you can't play the rest of the season,” he said.

Ryan Lizza's take:
Trump Gets Ready to Be a Bad Loser

This week marked the end of Trump trying to actually win, and the beginning of him plotting to explain why the election was stolen.

What's with his NFL obsession? He's actually given that speech before. Does he still hold a grudge because he couldn't bluff the NFL's actual Billionaires and he lost his shirt (and pants and socks) on his brilliant strategy to destroy the USFL? If anyone can recall, it was Donald's mouth that screwed up his team and his "take 'em to court" strategy that killed the league. They may have survived as pro-football junkies' off-season entertainment. Going head to head in the fall was Mr. Bigmouth's idea. (As was suing the NFL... and he's a winner... the USFL won $3.00!!!)

I suppose there's no possibility that Donald is who he is from playing football without a helmet too often? That was Lyndon's diagnosis of Gerald Ford.

Yeah, now he can morph into his final form and destroy the planet.

Gozer the Traveler. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!

This would so much better if this forum had a LIKE function.

I hope you're right.

An alternative outcome is that the Republican voters feel that the election was stolen from them. (Note that I don't think the establishment is nuts enough to support that view, but Trump sure as heck is.)

Don't count on it. They were supposed to have learned from the humiliation of Mittens in 12. Aside from the strategical failures, they are still going with the "don't believe the polls" nonsense. I would have figured, if nothing else, they would have woken up to that nonsense.

I don't see them learning, but the lesson is pretty clear: if you want to succeed, focus on cultivating leadership, and not on opposition.

When your campaign ads all consist of "He stood up to Obama and fought against Obamacare" all it shows is that you don't have any actual accomplishments (HINT: it shows that you FAILED to prevent Obamacare)

I agree completely. If anything, the Republican takeaway will be don't nominate someone with a narcissistic personality disorder. I think it will be easy for them to blame Trump for the losses instead of something more systemic about their leadership and the changing demographics.
