I now have my Trump is The Man! delusional idiot at work locked into a 50 U.S. dollar bet on the outcome of the election.

How delusional is he? not only did he bet the 50 bucks on the idiot, he butted into my conversation w/ a fellow veteran about Trump accepting the PH, and his statement about "knowing more than the Generals..." angrily asserting that Trump did nothing wrong wrt accepting the PH and maybe he does know more than "The Generals"

Trump supporting idiot was 4-F when he was subject to the draft...

I told the idiot that not only did Trump not know more than "The Generals," he didn't know more than Captain Crunch.

I'm going to love getting those 50 bucks.

As late as the 60's - midish '70's Republicans (a faction doomed to the history books as now extinct ) I could have agreed with you, but republickers trashed themselves after that by sucking up to fundie xtian ******** when they should have left them to rot and then they added the anti-intellectual teabagger fogies.

I would be ok with real Republicans - though I would still not agree with many of their ideas - as they could be worked and reasoned with - I actually remember when that was possible and some stuff that needed to get done got done. That, by the by, is why I am like I am with these Republican republicker thugs!!!!!

Trump just doesn't understand that machine. I don't think he's lying when he claims all the polls favour him. I think he goes online, clicks onto his favourite "news sources" - Breitbart and the like - and sees that he's massively ahead in their online polls. And he looks at the big crowds he draws compared to Hillary's small crowds. And... that's it. That means he must be winning.

I'm sure Ms Conway must have explained to him a dozen times that the above means he has a sizeable group of very determined supporters, and that this does not beat Hillary's rather larger but rather less enthusiastic group. But Trump just can't seem to take that on board.

And I'm sure she must have explained to him again and again that things which make his base go "Hell yeah, tell it like it is, Donald!" serve only to further enthuse those who are already committed to voting for him, whilst leaving those who are dubious unconvinced if not actively repelled. But he just can't seem to take that on board. Again, he says things, the audience cheers - so he must be winning. Because that's what matters to him. The cheers, the adulation. How can he not be winning if crowds cheer? That's what winning is, to Trump.

The election night defeat is going to hit Donald really hard. Harder than it hit Mitt Romney. I don't think he is ever going to be able to comprehend how it could have happened to him.

I hope the election leaves Trump an empty bag of skin, too foul for anyone else to attempt to ever again wear.

I'm personally hopeful for a divided government, where Republicans keep the House.


But the core of the problem is that the Republican Party is truly insane these days. You don't dare cross any one of their litmus tests. You can't support any restrictions on guns. You can't compromise on any tax issue. You have to call for indictments of your political opponents. When it comes to immigration we had some Republican candidates that had very strong, tough, stances on immigration, but it wasn't build a wall and throw the bums out.

So, Donald, cast off those shackles with vigor! You have nothing to lose but your chains! Your supporters demand a candidate that pulls no punches! Takes no prisoners! (Exception: It is acceptable to take prisoners if you promise to torture them.) Show the world what you are really made of!

Because if you do that, the Republicans might be sufficiently embarrassed that a group of sane people rise to the top, much like the Democratic Leadership Council did when the '80s Democrats were getting a too looney for the voters.
 
I would feel sorry for Mike Pence if I didn't think he was an equal douche to Drumph.

As long as the party has a strong Idiot Tea Party contingent, they need to lose the house too. As long as people like Priebus have anything to do with Republican leadership, then need to remain the out-house party.

They need to lose everything until some kind of sanity returns, or they need to be replaced.

Instant gratification versus the less tangible, delayed gratification of votes later. In any infant there's no contest, and Trump is to all intents and purposes an infant.

I'm not for a number of reasons. Maybe first among them is the absurd accusations made about the administration not changing anything when Congress pretty much prevented any. A divided government promises just more of the same.

I'm convinced that changes must be made to the tax code and the wealthy MUST contribute more. I find it hard to believe that even if the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress that they would be able to get much passed as Republican Senate that would filibuster everything.

A Trump presidency would almost certainly be a fraud. Trump's tax proposals offer NOTHING that would make the tax code mIre fair for everyday citizens. The GOP is also likely to ignore any actual substantive changes that eliminate these tax loopholes as well. The day Trump starts to care about every day Americans is the day Amy Adams and Anne Hathaway dump their husbands to move in with me. I'm not holding my breath.

You know, I was thinking: this right here is why "a businessman" isn't necessarily the best person to run the government.

In business, if you could sell something, literally anything, to 20% of the public, you'd be considered wildly successful.

But in politics, 20% is last place, by a large margin.

Trump won the primary largely because he had a solid 30% of the republican base, and the rest of the players spread the rest of the vote out too much to defeat him. And if this were business, his 30% would be great. But in politics, the support of 30% of one half (the Republican half) of the population just isn't enough.

Trump is having a hard time getting the rest of the Republican party to support him, to say nothing of getting votes from Democrats. That's what he needs to do to win, but he just doesn't see it. He sees his solid 30%, and thinks he's rolling in the votes. But votes aren't dollars.

I have heard some calls from Trumptards to not vote for down ballot Republicans who don't support Trump. To which I say: Good! Good! Let the butthurt flow through you!
