Tokyo gathering: FEAST

Hey guys,

Sorry I couldn't make it on Sunday. I was really looking forward to it, but something came up and it was just impossible. If I'm still in Japan this summer, maybe we can do the 4th of July again?

I'm really disappointed I missed it. I hope you all had a good time.

I'm free GW as well. In the end, four people came, and we were there from 13:00 to about 22:00.
 
Well, I'll be flying into Tokyo, arriving this Thursday 9/1. I'll be there for almost 2 weeks.

If anyone in the Tokyo area wants to meet up, let me know.

There he is! How've ya been, mate? I missed the last get-together, so hopefully I can catch up with you guys this time around. I'm living a lot closer to Tokyo now, so I shouldn't have any excuse for not showing up.

When was the last get-together? And how come I didn't know about it?
 
I just found out that my fave allergy med isn't allowed in (drixoral) due to the ban on pseudoephidrine.

The place I'm staying in has 5 cats; I'm allergic to cats; wasn't a problem; until I discovered I couldn't bring in the drixoral.

What can I buy or bring that'll get the job done?

As far as I know, the last get-together was the one that you organized, so I'm sure you were there!

Bignickel, that's a tough situtation. I guess one option is to bring it, and hope you don't get searched at the airport. I've never been searched myself, but maybe I look innocent or something.

I don' t have an allergy to cats, so I'll ask around and see if anybody has a suggestion. Probably won't make it in time for you to bring, but maybe I can get an idea of what you can buy over here. Of course, Kimpatsu most likely knows better than I do.
 
well, I made it; Im over at Yoshida House in Nerima-Ku.

I'm gonna see if I can navigate myself to an Indian restraunt named Swagat tonight.

PS No problems with cats so far. This place is so open air, cat dander doesnt have a chance.

PPS Is that my imagionation, or is a typhoon arriving on the 5th?

Kimpatsu, I don't know anything about restraunts around here, but I am a vegetarian. So, if it's someplace in Ikkebukuro or Shinjuku or thereabouts, that' d be good, since I'm in Nerima.

Shinjuku is good for me; I can get there in about 45 mins. There are plenty of restaurants about, but I have no idea about veggie menus. You should be able to get veggie food, though.
What we really need to decide, and urgently, is when and where to meet. How about this weekend?
 
You can do veggie well at Shamaim in Ekoda. It's an Israeli place. Very, very good. 2000 yen for all you can eat (drinks extra.)
 
6 pm is a little early for me, work-wise....but I can probably swing over and meet you guys a bit later.
