Tokyo gathering: FEAST

Well, I guess I could buy you one drink to help lessen the pain of losing the colonies. :D

According to David Icke, the world is really controlled by a secret cabal of intelligent lizards, chief among whom are the royal family. So the Queen evidently still rules North America!

By the way.....

I just noticed in this week's commentary that there's a submission from "Reader Gary Heayes, in Tokyo, Japan."

Is this one of you guys, or someone else that we should be inviting along? The more the merrier.[

DV

Not me, but I could feel his pain.
Also that was Kinpatsu who wrote about reflexology when you have a sore foot. Good one.

So I guess all systems are go on the Hobgoblin thing? I may need some directions.

Money is a bit tight (f*cking shaken!! ) but I'm still planning on showing up.

By the way, how was the move?

DV

Might as well post this here, since no one else could go anyway:
I went to a new Dali museum in Fukushima today. It's the third biggest Dali collection on display in the world, the only others being the Dali-designed museum in Figueras (with his grave I believe), and arguably the best collection, in Florida.

It's great. Get this--dozens of paintings and about 40 sculptures . All great (the sculptures, I mean). A lot of lithographs, but the oil paintings and gouache stuff was cool, too. They also had his sketch-portraits of other painters: Picasso, Chagall, and a bunch he'd never met like Van Gogh (dripping bloody ear, of course), and Toulouse-Lautrec.
Next time you go skiing at Bandai.--I guess that's what people do...

great URL too:

dali.jp

I got a big gig Saturday night, so today's PAF (Probability of Attending FEAST) rests at 72 percent.

Since I'm giving you directions, you have to show up.

Go to Roppongi and exit any of the exits for roppongi crossing. Walk towards Tokyo tower. The Hobgoblin will be on your left.

You can call me at 090 1777 9672.

Kimpatsu has listed his number as 090-2068-6625

Chicken's revenge, are you still planning on showing up?

Whoa! I'm surprised that nobody has posted any comments yet!

I don't have time to get into depth right now, but I wanted to say that yesterday was a lot of fun. It was nice meeting you guys.

I'll try to get back and post more as soon as my head clears up. Loon, be careful which pictures you put up on the forums!

DV

Still...alive...
must...try..to..type...

I'm rather ill today. Lucky I'm not working.
Yeah, that was fun and yes, Loon, careful with those photos.

Yesterday was indeed a blast. Loon had a very good time, but was in such bad shape that he is referring to himself in the third person today (despite feeling significantly better).

More detail might follow later.

Jreffers attending: Loon, Kimpatsu, Voob and Delivering Vito.

There were some non-Jreffers for a little while, too.

Loon has yet to obtain hosting for the pics, so no worries about them yet. Review on the train home indicated that most will never see the light of day. :)

Let Loon know if you have any problems with having your picture posted here.

Loon would dearly like to stop referring to himself in the third person....

Glad I'm not alone in feeling awful today. unfortunately, I had a sudden deadline thrown at me, so I'm fighting the pain as I work...

:hit: (couldn't find a sick smiley...but this kind of captures the feeling)

Deadlines suck. They're worse when they're a surprise.

I, on the other hand, have managed to point out someone else's mistake on a trivial thing that I would otherwise have been roasted for. That took five minutes. The rest of the day has been forums...

Did you wind up staying out all night? (You looked like you were headed for a roughish night when I left)

We ran into the girl and the bartender as we were going back to the station? She manage to wheedle any more drinks out of him?

Yup. I didn't make the last train, so I called some guys from work that live in the area. I finally got myself on a train at about 6 am....took me three stations to notice that I was going the wrong way :p

But seriously, that was the best 4th I've had in a few years, so it was all worth it. We should do it again sometime!

Gomenasai!

Sorry I didn't make it guys, I suddenly got very busy at work (this last week has been sports day at the junior high I teach at, and also interactive english forum.) and My bos decided to have a fourth of july party for us ex-pats. I am glad to hear you all had fun. Will simply have to be there next year at TFII - Tokyo feast 2.
I hope no one did any homeopathic drugs.

Cheers!

Seems the other guys are still recovering or something, so I'll have to respond here.

We did actually wonder what had happened to you. I think one of the guys said he had sent you a PM as well.

You'll definitely have to meet up with the next time. And I have a feeling you may not have to wait a whole year for that to happen.

DV

Been trying to cough my lungs out. The lungs are coming out, but the stuff that's clogging 'em seems to be staying behind.

Kimpatsu is probably still fighting with NTT to get his connection hooked up in the new place.

I should have PMed you sooner, Chickensrevenge. Sorry about that.

I'm going back to the US next week, but I am definitely up for another meet. It was good fun.

The F in FEAST is "First," so I'm not sure about "FEAST 2." I'll come up with another acronym. Heck. we could do a mini one at TAMIII. It sounded like everyone was looking to attend.
