You know, I'm not sure letters of marque are a bad idea here. :) :) :)

What, like this?

Never liked it, myself, but if you say so.

This was an excellent job by the US Navy and everyone else involved.

But the pathetic 1st Coastal Bathtub Flotilla (aka German Navy) is still ahead of you guys, having taken out (and captured, too!) nine pirates and assisted in capturing seven more.

Take that, oh mighty United States Navy! :p

Thank you for reminding us all that the nutty right is still a hundred times nuttier than the nutty left.

So using extreme nutty lefty logic to poke fun of extreme nutty lefty logic makes me extreme righty nut?

How many pirate crews did the Shrub bust?

Zippo.

How many attempts did he make?

Nada.

How many attempts did Obama make to bust a pirate crew?

One.

How many succeded?

All of them.

Who's the man?

Freepers don't know diddly about military strength.
Not true, in 2006 the US Navy captured 10 pirates who had taken an Indian vessel: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpa...930A15752C0A9609C8B63&scp=4&sq=pirates&st=nyt

The pirates were turned over to Kenya and Navy personnel testified in their prosecution.

Clinton didn't leave problems for the Shrub. The Shrub screwed up all the efforts that Clinton had made to provide a response to ObL. You do not get to rewrite history.

Did you forget about the U.S.S. Cole?

Who identified the culprits in the Cole attack? Who started the pursuit?

Clinton was taking action against al Qaeda even as he prepared to leave office. The Shrub did not exactly hit the ground running, did he.

I believe it was the CIA that identified the culprits as being Al-Qaeda about three months later, just before Bush took office. Sorry, but three months was way too long, Clinton should have made this a top priority from the day it happened. Clinton left the mess to Bush and while true, that Bush did nothing either, the attack happened on Clinton's watch, it was his responsibility.

What earth shaking events was keeping Clinton so busy those last three months? I seem to recall a trip to Vietnam <yawn>.

It is not like he had some means other than to allow the CIA to do its job in order to find the culprits. At least he did not take the same approach that the Shrub did and order a retaliatory strike against Saddam.

Too bad there were no more aspirin factories to bomb.
