Yep. Granted, no US flagged vessels were taken, partly due to our small merchant marine, but I agree with you, Lefty. W and the team chose not to be proactive in what has been for the US, for two decades, a strategic area of the world: East Africa, due to its sitting on some pretty important sea lanes. The HOA Task Force was alive and well years ago. What it wasn't was resourced to address this matter.

I suggest W's focus on Iraq contributed.

I did it too. Give me the other barrel.

But there are a couple of reasons for bringing them over. It is of political interest to see what extremists are saying. We need a reminder every now and then that looniness is real and that actual people with real opinions feel this way.

Another reason for posting rather than providing a link is as a service. A lot of the comments are repetitive and some are no more than "God bless the Easter Seals" so by making a "greatest hits" post, he and I saved you the problem of wading through them for the "good stuff".

Besides, everybody stops to look at a train wreck, do they not? You don't have to be a lover of feces to have a morbid curiosity.

Well, I'm a much bigger fan of Navy snipers than I was 3 days ago when I didn't realize that the Navy had snipers.
