only a small percentage of Polish Jews were able to flee to the Soviet zone, and in 1941 that zone became Nazi occupied as well.

and I guess you forgot the fact that hundreds of thousands of Jews were killed in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia after Operation Barbarrosa. Nevermind the one million killed in Ukraine and Russia.
