The VFF Test is On!

<snippety...>Well, think about it this way. Half of this issue is already true. I do "see" the insides of people's bodies. The question rather is, are those images depicting reality or are they fabricated by my mind? <...do dah>

Since you refuse to consider that these images might be fabricated by your mind, why would you even ask this question? Are you throwing it out there in yet another attempt to manipulate opinion and appear virtuous?

<snippety> However, what I have here is not your average typical "scientific investigation", because there is so much negative criticism constantly trying to push me down.

If you are in a science lab and working on perhaps a controversial subject that other scientists don't believe in, at least they are going to let you invest with your time and effort, knowing that science will prevail and that you will reach to the right conclusion. <snippety>

Oh, yes, the meanie Skeptics have suppressed and controlled your independent actions and kept you from investing your time and effort in an honest scientific investigation.

It's interesting...you have spent a huge portion of your time and effort over the last year defending your position with endless words, when your best defense would have been a rigorous, truly scientific approach to investigating any one of your claims. So, really...the problem lies with you, not the Skeptics.

Oh: And no comment on why you don't want to do a gas-identification test, Anita? I notice you have delicately tip-toed around your previous claims to be able to identify gas inside metal cylinders every time we've brought them up!

Delicately tip-toed around? That's an interesting way to say, "blatantly ignored." :)

...I am attending Wednesday's FACT Skeptics meeting and Dr. Carlson has promised to let me practice seeing that his kidney is missing. LightinDarkness you are of course invited to attend, if you so choose.

Only four days left! Don't laugh at me if I fail! ;)

It would be interesting read dr Carlson's version of tomorrow's event, or that of any other FACT member who cares to post it up.

I'm reposting Ness36 excellent post just to enjoy reading how a real science student expresses him/herself on the subject of Vibrational AlgebraTM

I have a chemistry bachelors degree. I have probably taken the same classes as you. I am sure others in this forum have taken more classes and know more than either of us. I have derived the Schrodinger equation for the wavefunction the electron in a of a 1 electron atom (ex. Hydrogen) in my classes.

The “Quantum physical wavefunction description of the atom of a whole” doesn’t really mean any thing special. It sounds complicated but all it means is you know where the electrons are likely to be in an atom. Great. That doesn’t tell you anything about kidneys, bacteria, or migraines.

Here is a picture of the electron probability distribution. The nodes show where there are no electrons. Where there are lots of dots, there is higher probability for electrons to exist.

Here is one of the electron probabilities for a hydrogen atom. This shows that the electron has a high probability of being at a certain distance from the nucleus.

The simple 1 electron distribution (ex. Hydrogen) can be derived by hand. Add a few more electrons and you can do it with high powered super computers. If you have as a multi electron element or molecule, the Schrodinger wave function is too complicated to be solved by any computer. So can you sense in your mind what no modern supercomputer can calculate???

Does this mean you can sense temperature, pressure or motion? So you could tell the difference between boiling and cold water behind a screen? Or a vacuum in a jar, and a jar of pressurized air? What does temperature, pressure and motion tell you about kidneys, migrains, or the flavor of icecream a friend is eating?

Far beyond? What is it then exactly??? You said vibration? All vibrations are related to thermal information, since they are kinetic energy, which is related to thermal energy.

If it is a synesthetic fabrication in your mind of feelings and images, why say “vibrational” or “quantum physical wavefunction description of the atom as a whole”. Why not say “glowing green”? I know if I saw things I would say “I saw some crazy glowing organs inside someone, so I knew they were sick”. If I lived in medieval times I would say it was demons. Since you live in modern times you are saying “quantum physical wavefunction description of the atom as a whole”

........

You know, you could practice all day long, verifying that people are not missing a kidney .. If you happen to see someone who is missing one, you could ask them to verify it..

Only four days left! Don't laugh at me if I fail! ;)
There is no doubt IMO , that you will fail . We are just waiting to see what your excuse will be for failing, if you take the test at all ...

Well, that's completely pointless. You already know that his kidney is missing.
Any one of us could also sit and stare at him all day and conjure up images in our minds of the empty space where his kidney once was. It would prove exactly nothing other than we already knew his kidney was missing and that our imaginations are functioning.

Rigorous scientific approach? Nope.

After VFF woos on and on about his missing kidney on Wednesday, wouldn't it be hilarious if dr Carlson then informs the woman he actually has two kidneys and pulls out proof of that?

:D
Anyway, 4 days til the demonstraction.
What are the weather predictions for this weekend in the area?

All we have seen is mental gymnastics, and ample evidence that Anita suffers from schizotypal personality disorder.
I see a lot of evidence of hyperbole.

I don't understand the turn of this thread. How many other claimants, after failing a test, have renounced their claimed ability and left the dark side? Certainly not whatshername at TAM7. No dowser that I can remember. And so on.

So why all the vitriol about Anita? Now some posts - volatile and ness in particular - have really added to the thread. But I think it should be expected that Anita won't get hit by a lightening bolt of rationality. It's SOP. At the very least, let her take the test and give her reaction THEN get on your soapbox. Sheesh.

If that were to happen the claim would be 110% falsified! Wow! Because I am just that sure that I detected the kidney being missing! I have every reason to expect my perceptions of kidneys to be just that strong on the IIG Preliminary, and so, if I make a mistake the claim is falsified.

*Trying to wonder what it is going to feel like after the weekend when the claim is falsified.*

Apart from sounding about as scientific as a five-year-old might, you are wrong. In point of fact, you have every reason to expect that your perceptions are illusory, but refuse to accept them.

For all but one of us, no change.

I keep jumping in and out of this thread and due to that I am probably missing something.

It MUST have been said before but can we not let VFF complete her prelim then, assuming she fails, dog pile on her?

You haven't read the multiple threads over the span of about two years have you? We're not "dog piling" on her as she has already made it clear that even if she fails in this demonstration that will not falsify her other claimed paranormal powers. Many posters spent a lot of time going back and forth with her to test some of these claims.(she wanted protocol design help) Simple protocols were proposed they were either ignored or attempted by her and not completed due to her excuses. She promised to publish the raw data from her FACT test and it has been months and she hasn't posted it here or on her website. Why? Simply because she did so poorly, coming in at third best out of four, I believe. Another thing, when any of her threads drop off the first page she will be sure to bump them with some sort of claim or a wall of text. So the level of frustration here is quite high and you would have to read every VfF thread to have a clear picture of how we feel in regards to this particular situation.

Yes I have. Leave her alone until she proves otherwise. I'm sure she will give you all the opportunity to **** on her from whatever height you like but until she actually fails a test and I mean in this instance the test as per protocol then why are you all getting so warped.

She has published an agreeable protocol and will be tested. Let her be tested then!

Actually the protocol has not, nor will be, published before the demonstrtion. The IIG calls it a demonstration and it is not their preliminary test.
