The Unofficial Election 2016 Results Thread PLEASE

I predict within a year you will be screaming about how Trump sold out when none of your White Fatherland fantasies materialize.

Trump will drop the White Nationalist like a hot potato now that he has won and they will be a burden on him.

It isn't entirely about Trump, it's about the mythical version of him we (along with you) have created.

This is huge symbolically.

The alt-right and white nationalists can legitimately strut around today as though we ourselves have won. Because we have.

Meme magic.

Until the heat from his fellow Republicans gets to be too much........
I'm not sure if Donald gives a **** what any of them think and they will probably be too spineless to publicly go against him. I think that if Donald decides to keep it Republicans will just forget about it.

Good job on calling it for Trump. I didn't think we stood a chance against The Machine. So, yes, I'm pretty happy today, and walking around in the town I live (San Francisco) it is hard to not enjoy a bit of schadenfreude. But, the virtue signaling continues - everyone is already trying to come up with the best way to express how they didn't vote for him, how he's a racist, etc on their Facebook feeds...

I think this was a great comeuppance to both the Democratic and the current Republican party. Booyah!

Booyah indeed, brother!

On top of everything else... I may or may not have cleaned up on some serious shekels here too.

Bling bling yo!

Many signals from the GOP this morning that the US will honor it's Nato commitments. Donald cannot make foreign policy singlehanded, and a great many Republicans despise Putin.
If Donald wants to let Putin take Estonia, I'm not sure what anyone could do about it. Maybe remove him from office but that would take a while and I dunno if they would have the stones to do it.

What makes you think so? Donald doesn't have a history of letting other people telling him what to do.

It's been pretty widely reported that Trump conceives of his presidency as a kind of corporate chairmanship. Combined with his gross ignorance of the mechanics of government, it won't be a surprise when Pence and Ryan and his appointees tell him "We'll take care of this for you, Mr. President." Trump will be the puppet of whoever can get his ear.

It's been suggested that due to all his legal problems, his presidency will be paralysed and he'll be in jail within a year. How likely do you [no one in particular] think this is?

The GOP will fall in line, as long as Trump maintains his popularity.

Because he's way over his head and when **** hits the fan, he'll delegate. The same people that took away his twitter account will make the decisions, and they'll just let him know what it is.

David Wong, Michael Moore (of all people), John Michael Greer and others have offered explanations of Trump's ballot success that are way more insightful than "it's all racism!"

Mine, from this March, was perhaps less insightful but more concise. Updated a bit:

Hey appalled clever people:

If you don't want fascist, nationalist, populist, Ceasar-type demagogue candidates getting nominated elected, consider legislating as if low wages and high rents were problems instead of door prizes.
