The Unofficial Election 2016 Results Thread PLEASE

Okay so should Georgia and South Carolina have been expected to be called by now?

Keep in mind, Trump will take an early lead because he wins in the less populated rural areas. They turn vote counts in first. Clinton will get the more heavily populated areas and they take longer to count the votes.

Dubya didn't vote for Trump (nor Clinton). No living president voted for Trump, apparently.

The BBC says Clinton 3 (VT) Trump 19 (IN and KY) but these are still projections, yes? It's so different to our system that I am finding it strange.

Yes these are projections. There are some states where the outcome is a forgone conclusion so they are announced immediately after polls close.

Weird, MSNBC just called S Carolina for Trump while the LA Times has Clinton ahead but only 0.2% of the votes in. I guess they are going by polls.

OK, now the map is red again in the Times.

It is basically over for Donald if he loses Florida. Hillary could lose it and still win.

Kremp model concurs:
If Trump wins FL, Clinton has 64% chance of winning election
If Clinton wins FL, Clinton has 100% chance of winning election

Well, bugger me. I thought it was a deeper red state.

The north is, the south isn't. The north is basic southern rednecks. The south is Cubans and retired Jews from New York City. More or less...

So it is a perennial swing state.

While declining your kind invitation, I'll note that Florida is not a typical Southern state. Lots of retired northerners down there, many of them Jewish. And the formerly reliably Republican Cuban population is now into its 3rd or 4th generation and becoming less of a single-issue constituency.
