The Truth about RFK Jr

I must say that I most sincerely do not want anyone to shoot RFK Jr. Even if he truly believes that Sirhan Sirhan is innocent, and even if he gets Trump to pardon him (which he should if he is innocent, right?). Even then, I don’t want Sirhan Sirhan to shoot him.

No, I hope he gets AIDS.
If he's not taking AZT I don't see how he could get aids. Honestly the not believing that Sirhan Sirhan killed his father might be the craziest thing he believes. Sirhan has admitted and never backed down . WTF does a guy have to do to get some credit from RFK jr.

I thought this was a spoof headline and someone had hacked the NY Times app. What drives this evil behavior? Will anyone ask DJT about it? Do they honestly believe that contracting Polio is safer than the Polio vaccine? Or do they really not give a ◊◊◊◊ about human life and just want social media hits? Or what?

The vax deniers I've heard seem to believe there never was polio in the first place.

I'd rather he got polio. Let him give his "I didn't know it was loaded" speech from an iron lung.

What's your position on someone shooting him up with AIDS?

I think he's wealthy enough to have afforded his own needle
The thing is, people who use heroin are rarely super health-conscious. And even if they are, the immediate effects of using heroin include a certain relaxation of standards. Even people who know better, when they are in their right minds, are not immune to carelessness in that situation.

What the anti-vaxxers won't explain or discuss. From the World Health Organization.

In the early 1950s, the first successful vaccine was created by US physician Jonas Salk. Salk tested his experimental killed-virus vaccine on himself and his family in 1953, and a year later on 1.6 million children in Canada, Finland and the USA. The results were announced on 12 April 1955, and Salk’s inactivated polio vaccine (IPV) was licensed on the same day. By 1957, annual cases dropped from 58 000 to 5600, and by 1961, only 161 cases remained.

A second type of polio vaccine, the oral polio vaccine (OPV) was developed by physician and microbiologist Albert Sabin...The ease of administering the oral vaccine made it the ideal candidate for mass vaccination campaigns. Hungary began to use it in December 1959 and Czechoslovakia in early 1960, becoming the first country in the world to eliminate polio. World Health Organization page link

I'm old enough to remember when the circus came to town and we were not allowed to go because of the fear of the polio epidemic. That was in the now olden days when they actually came to town. They marched down the main street of Great Barrington, elephants, calliope and all, and we watched the parade and went home. The next year, the polio vaccine was cleared, Not quite the first group, but I got it in 1955. Ironic now that the nasty little town of Great Barrington is known now by many for the newthinktank declaration against Covid precautions. I knew someone who got polio and spent some time in an iron lung. She was lucky, only lost one lung. So yeah. Stealing a little from archy the cockroach, if I were to speak sincerely about how I feel about such people as RFK, I would not be understood by most because few people are low life enough to understand the language I would use. It's asterisks all the way down.

Could result in high-paying jobs in the iron lung manufacturing industry.

I remember Robert Prey, on this forum, arguing that, because polio is symptomless in most cases, we should try to achieve herd immunity by letting everyone catch it.

Given that was the position Jay Bhattacharya, trump's nominee to lead the NIH, took on Covid19, I wouldn't put it past this lot...

I'm old enough to remember that my mum was petrified that I would contract one (or all) of the now preventable kid's diseases.
I had measles when I was on holiday in west Wales with the family next door. I had it badly enough that I was taken to spend 10 days in the District nurse's cottage (complete with duck pond!) in a darkened room. I was really pretty ill - but I got a boiled duck egg every morning. Win.
Don't let anyone try and tell you it's a mild disease. I was in that darkened room for good reason. Measles can be disastrous for eyes.

I had whooping cough when I was too young to remember, but I've been told that everyone was very concerned about me. Not mild.

I remember getting rubella. TBH the worst thing was not being able to leave the house for fear of being near a pregnant woman.

Had mumps when I was 28. That was ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ vicious. I won't go into all the gory details of that, but it was far from a mild disease.

My mother's anxiety eased when vaccines became available. I'm glad that vaccines were there for our kids. If RFK achieves any of his aims I fear for the health of Americans.

All those preventable diseases really don't need much help to race into an unprotected population.
