The Truth about RFK Jr

If memory serves me correctly, the host of the blog Respectful Insolence wrote that he cringes when journalists refer to RFK, Jr. as a vaccine skeptic. Rational skepticism is one thing, but simply being anti-vaccination is something entirely different. My concern is that I have no idea how he comes to his beliefs or what it would take to get him to change his mind.

Yeah, the BBC have routinely been calling RFK Jr "vaccine skeptic" lately, resulting in me shouting at the radio.

The berk is an out and out anti-vaxxer, aka child hater and sadist (I really do not think this is hyperbole: I've seen what polio can do; I know fine well what other "harmless" childhood diseases can do; wishing that on someone is nothing short of sadism and hatred).

For the record, "autism" was not even described as a specific diagnosis until 1944. Before that, it was a whole bunch of unrelated conditions of various, changing names, and was known for centuries. Autism has not become more prevalent recently, nor are the spectrum conditions new. It is just that the diagnosis, identification and classification has evolved in recent decades. And continues to evolve even today.

Not that MAGA or Trump would understand this situation in the slightest! They just want to call such people by horrible names and bully them. Scum.

Not to forget that Lorna Wing did not coin the term "Asperger's Syndrome" until the early '80s, as Asperger's work had not been published in English...

And don't get me started on the development of assessment tools and the rest, which improved out of all recognition, as had our experience, by the time I jacked it in.

Before you posted this, did you bother to read anything on the other side? I used to think just like you do about people who question vaccine safety, but then I decided I should read at least a few of their sources. There are plenty of medical scientists who support RFK Jr.'s concerns about certain vaccines, but you never hear about them in our Big Pharma-dominated news media. Have you read RFK Jr.'s thoroughly documented short book A Letter to Liberals? Have you read Senator (and Dr.) Rand Paul's book Deception: The Great COVID Cover-Up?

Here are some sources that are available online:

If you read Dick Russell's book The Real RFK Jr., you'll see that he soundly debunks the myth that Kennedy's 2005 Rolling Stone article "Deadly Immunity" was "refuted by scientists." It was not, and has not been.

It's always a good idea, and in keeping with the principles of critical thinking, to read both sides of the story before reaching conclusions about it.

Finally, you should be aware that RFK Jr. has gotten all the standard vaccines except the COVID vaccine, and that his children have done so as well. He is not against vaccines per se; his main point is that vaccines should have to undergo the same safety trials that prescription drugs have to undergo.
Rand Paul is an ophthalmologist not an immunologist. You don't go to an oncologist for plastic surgery or to a cardiologist for cataract surgery. You don't go to an ophthalmologist for his opinion on virology.

Dick Russell is a self-admitted conspiracist. He actually co-authored a book with...wait for it...Jesse Ventura on conspiracies, "American Conspiracies: Lies, Lies, and More Dirty Lies That the Government Tells Us". It claims "the murder of Abraham Lincoln and the assassinations of the Kennedys and Martin Luther King all need to be reexamined. Was Watergate presented honestly, or was the CIA involved? Did the Republican Party set out to purposefully steal two elections on behalf of George W. Bush? Has all the evidence been presented about the 9/11 attacks, or is there another angle that the media is afraid to explore? And finally, is the collapse of today's financial order and the bailout plan by the Federal Reserve the widest-reaching conspiracy ever perpetrated?"

The conspiracy minded go to other conspiracists for confirmation.

I suspect he will not last long in his new job...he is already taking heat for him proposols to ban products using corn sugar from school lunches. A lot of the Farmers who voted for Trump raise corn and they are maiking their displasure known.

Remember when Michelle Obama suggested putting more vegetables in school lunches and the republicans lost their minds?

For people who complain about nanny-statism, they seem to be more than happy to support RFK Jr who is like a nanny statist on steroids. I mean, in his case that's probably literally true, and beyond that he's something like an evil nanny who, instead of doing what's best for baby, is actively dreaming up insane ways of doing it harm, such as by giving it measles, mumps, rubella, diptheria, hepatitis, polio and whooping cough.

Thanks a lot you freaky gammon-faced worm-eaten piece of ◊◊◊◊.

The New York Times reported on a lawyer closely associated with RFK Jr, namely Aaron Siri. They wrote, "The lawyer helping Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pick federal health officials for the incoming Trump administration has petitioned the government to revoke its approval of the polio vaccine, which for decades has protected millions of people from a virus that can cause paralysis or death. That campaign is just one front in the war that the lawyer, Aaron Siri, is waging against vaccines of all kinds." One almost wishes that Senator McConnell would still be the ranking republican in the senate next year; he would have something to say about this, I am sure.

Yeah, apparently this Siri guy is upset that the polio vaccine that has been given out hundreds of millions of times worldwide and is considered safe by public health departments around the world, didn't go through a proper double-blind study as to is efficacy and safety sixty years ago. We need to stop giving it out, take a few thousand kids who have not been inoculated yet, give half of them the vaccine and half a placebo, then expose them all to polio to see what happens.

Kennedy’s Lawyer Has Asked the F.D.A. to Revoke Approval of the Polio Vaccine

The lawyer helping Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pick federal health officials for the incoming Trump administration has petitioned the government to revoke its approval of the polio vaccine, which for decades has protected millions of people from a virus that can cause paralysis or death.

Mr. Siri has also filed a petition seeking to pause the distribution of 13 other vaccine.

I realized long ago that America wouldn't reach the heights of Star Trek's Federation in my lifetime, but I really didn't expect it to slump backwards into the nineteenth century. Yet here we go!

The essay at Respectful Insolence is very good. The only thing I would like to add is that phosphate is a pH buffer in our cells and that without phosphate, there would be no way for ATP synthase to make ATP from ADP and phosphate. ATP is necessary for muscle contraction, among other essential roles.

I guess this is all okay for Mike Griffiths because RFK and his family have been vaccinated against polio. So the vaccine is just going to be revoked for other people.

I've already seen a comment online that if polio makes a comeback RFK might run the risk of "a Luigi". The Kennedy family does have a bit of a history with such events. Not sure if there's a vaccine for that particular ailment.

I must say that I most sincerely do not want anyone to shoot RFK Jr. Even if he truly believes that Sirhan Sirhan is innocent, and even if he gets Trump to pardon him (which he should if he is innocent, right?). Even then, I don’t want Sirhan Sirhan to shoot him.

No, I hope he gets AIDS.
