The Republicans really do have alternatives. Really.

What is it with Americans and taxes? You have one of the lowest rates of taxation of any major western industrialized nation, and yet you still complain about taxes. Get over it already!
Because taxation is control?

That is why the Tories went to Canada and the rest stayed and fought a revolution against unfair taxation.

Part of the tax code that started the Revolutionary War was a tax cut for the British East India Company.

Powerful, connected corproation got a big tax break and small-scale shipping companies got screwed.

Happens all the time.

It seems both of you missed the part where the United States already has one of the lowest rates in the western industrialized world. And yet the complaints are as loud and constant as if you had one of the highest rates of taxation.

Thus, again, I say get over it already.

"Get over it already"

That's pretty rich, coming from someone who has posted the same thing about Americans and taxes at least 4 times in 4 completely different threads. Get over it, indeed.

You're stalking Corsair? D:

If you're making more money than I am, you are benefitting at a much greater rate than am I from the existing infrastructure. You should be paying taxes at a greater rate.

Get over it.

Boehner was left to field questions. He said Republicans would do a better job than the President cutting the deficit. When asked what the goal was, he answered curtly, “to do better.” Pressed again on how, Boehner said "you'll see next week." The reporter tried again, asking how the GOP plan would do better than President Obama's goal of cutting the deficit in half, and Boehner repeated, "Oh, it'll be better."

So, how's that going?

....

Couldn't have said it better myself.

But, after all, it's only Tuesday. They still have three more days to produce their "it'll be better" plan. Probably just a few details to iron out.

“If you expected a GOP alternative to the failed policies of the past that got our country into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, then I have two words for you: April Fool’s," Baer said of the budget outlined in the Journal.

Here's what he's responding to.

Same old garbage. Give a tax cut to the people who have been locating our national wealth off shore or using it to build industries that produce nothing exportable, like health care policies that turn a profit by denying medical care.

Plenty of money for military hardware, none for infrastructure.

That's how we got where we are now.

The Republicans have no ideas, just the usual time-disproven dogma.

Dudes, your boy Shrub ran over your dogma with his karma months ago.

So, in an effort to avoid being "the party of no" the House Republicans held a press conference to release their budget, in response to Obama saying he would like to see their proposals.

... It is 18 pages, and most of it is describing what the Democrats are going to do. They must have had really thick paper, because it looked a lot bigger in the press conference. The only numbers in it are these:

That is seriously it.

I loved the press conference.

Linky.

I am not making this up.
No, you were not making it up - You were announcing the lack of detail in the press release. In which they said they'd provide details the next week. Which you omitted, didn't you?

Now next week has passed, and you have not commented on those details? Here they are.
