The Oldest Religious Structures & Ancient Aliens?

Thanks Marduk, word origin is always interesting. Far more interesting than ancient aliens, lost civilizations, gods, ancient astronauts or the like.

Oh I don't know, some gods can be interesting
ever read the story of what Artemis did with Atalanta, Britomartis, Cyrene and Anticleia
I believe the story is frequently reenacted in video
:D

You've got to admit though, attempting to use Google Maps Street View to explore for ancient civilizations beneath the Pacific Ocean is at least novel.

I once found the skeletal remains of Ydraig the World Dragon on Google Earth! You can't see it so well now that they've made the water all fancy. Don't knock it until you've tried it ;)

What's it got to do with ancient aliens?

The Oldest Religious Structures Was first in my op the alien thing is also another theory.
Not much is known about these people and its interesting that it is hidden,.
Most likely they were taxing people passing through the area because it was on a trade route.

Using Google earth is just another tool that's available for free, and access is not denied. I would like to go and see it also.

Are you now suggesting that the thread title is not intended to indicate a relationship the world's oldest religious structures and ancient aliens?

Seriously?

It's the most visited tourist attraction in Jordan and famous throughout the world, being visited by thousands of people every year. It's about as hidden as Piccadilly Circus or Times Square and the history of the Nabataeans who built it is quite well known. They were even mentioned in the Amarna Letters and were well documented by such historians as Pliny the Elder.

This is completely at odds with your statement that not much is known about the Nabataeans or that Petra itself is hidden.

So what?

I just happened to catch one of the Transformer movies on TV last night and was wondering, is edge sourcing his theories from Hollywood?

If "Hollywood" is the name he's given to his back passage, then, yes, he does source all of his ideas from Hollywood.

I had a similar suggestion earlier in the thread (that he was getting it all from overly cliche and badly written sci-fi), and it would certainly explain quite a bit.;)

Even I've been there. I didn't see any alien carvings.

I gave you my sources and none are from there.
The book of Enoch describes why it is the way it is about absolute evidence.
My opinion is that we were more advanced in the deep past than our known history books tell us, before a major calamity hit the earth and it was Lost.

Enoch may have been more important in history than is let on too.

We can't even pin point what an alien is even today.
It has been the greatest mystery since the beginning of history, no ones explanation of them is satisfactory to this day.

Figments of the imagination is a very satisfactory explanation, no other even comes close

.

so you're unaware that Petra is so unknown that it featured as the hiding place of the Holy grail in "Indiana jones and the last crusade" more than 2 decades ago

Seen that movie Edge ?

Petra ....

In my study I have a carpet bought in Petra.
What is it we don't we know about the Nabataeans, edge?
Could you source the idea Petra represents an ancient mystery?

Not familiar with it. I'm guessing I'll find it in the fiction section?

"It is illogical to speculate without sufficient evidence." ~Spock.

A pity that fictional characters have stronger grasp on reality and critical thinking than a real person does.

Alien looks pretty well defined to me.
