The Gospel

How, exactly, are you free?
Well, for starters God has given me power over things in my life that in the past I never had. I was attached to some of those past sins. In my own weaknesses I have found His strength, and have been able to stop doing the things that kept me in pain, or what I now call bondage.

I don't know why God has shared so much of His love and understanding with me, but it is quite profound and peaceful. Like what scripture says,"the peace that surpasses all our own understanding." These are not just words to me, it's true and it all started when I chose to start believing Him.

It's true that I have never believed what the Muslims believe. In fact the more I find out about the Koran and how it is in direct conflict with the true Word of God(the Holy Bible) the more upset I get about it. But I do not or will not ever make a claim stating I hate Muslims.

Given your previous posts on the subject, it's rather obvious that what you know about the Quran and Islam could fit on the head of a pin composed entirely of imaginary particles.

Why do they hate Christians?

They don't, for the most part.

And again I would like to share something I shared on another site that states my being turned around from my pagan beliefs in the past...

Nobody cared there, and nobody cares here. Unless you have some evidence or substantiation, you're just babbling.

His Word is how we know Him. Do you believe the Bible?

No.

Well, for starters God has given me power over things in my life that in the past I never had.

You mean there were things in your life that you had no power over? Like what? There is nothing you don't already have power over except what other people do and think. Everybody except a prisoner has power over everything they do. You don't have to go to work, take drugs, hate people, love people, eat, talk or care for your children. The power you speak of is within all of us and doesn't require the permission of a mythical sky-fairy to excercise. To quote the Nike slogan, "Just do it!".

I was attached to some of those past sins. In my own weaknesses I have found His strength, and have been able to stop doing the things that kept me in pain, or what I now call bondage.

You were attached to sins????. Sounds like something a preacher told you or that you read in a religious self-help book. How can you be "attached" to a sin? If you want to stop doing things, stop doing them. Simple as that.

As I posted before, you have substituted an addiction to religion for your other weaknesses. It seems you are a person who needs to be addicted to something, whether it's pharmaceutical, mystical or theological, it is all a way to escape yourself. Become addicted to yourself. Believe in yourself. Everything you claim has happened because of religion could have been accomplished by believing in yourself and your own innate ability to overcome your failings.

Why do they hate Christians?

Just out of curiousity, Kathy, do you actually know any Muslims personally? Even one? Have you met one in the flesh? Ever worked with one?

Or are you basing all this on somebody telling you that Muslims hate Christians without any personal experience?

Allah and the Christian/Jewish god are the same. Here is a quote from the Koran advising Muslims what they should tell the Jews:

“We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you; our God and your God is One, and to Him we do submit”

(Palmer translation of Sura 29:46)

The Koran says that Allah and the Jewish God are one and the same. Muslims believe that Jesus was a false or defective prophet who got most things wrong, while Mohammed was the true prophet.

To clarify, Muslims do not consider Jesus defective nor do they consider Mohammed the true prophet. Muslims consider Jesus a true prophet whose message got corrupted by men written their own thoughts on his message.

Muslims consider the Torah and the Gospel defective, not the prophets themselves depicted in these works. Muslims consider the Qu'ran the one true message from God uncorrupted by men.

You are correct SCG. My brain was out to lunch when I wrote that.

Do you believe the Bible?
I don't believe any book that has talking snakes and men living inside of whales and billions of animals living on a boat for a year. Just like I don't believe any book that has flying dragons or sea monsters. Fairy tales, all.

KK, maybe Muslims don't hate Christians. Maybe they hate sin.

Muslims consider the greatest sin to be taking a graven image in the place of God. Recall the Golden Cow episode in the Bible? God has a tendency not to take likely to acts of worship of any image or person in the place of God.

And now look at what Christianity has done. They've gone and made their religious belief centralized on the worst Islamic sin. From Muslims perspective, Christians ask people to believe in a man as God.

Now, from a Christian perspective, Muslims are asking people to believe in the one great mistake, that Jesus is not God.

Two completely opposed concepts, with either side believing the other is taking people to Hell. Are people hating other people or the message people are spreading?

I was once unhappy and lost, not knowing where I was going or what to do. I was making so many bad decisions in my life that were just leading me down a spiral of self-destruction. It was me, though, and nobody else that finally realized where I was going wrong and how to get out of it. It was a long, difficult and painful struggle, but I was able to fix my life, and now I live what I consider to be a very happy existence - happily married (very happily), great friends, good job, excellent health, relatively good finances, lots of fun things, etc.

If I were you, kk, I might say that God had done all of these things for me. But I never asked for any divine help, never felt any divine inspiration, never experienced any sort of revelation from above. I simply - I don't know - grew up, I guess. Realized I had to settle down and make better choices. Plan for the future. See the big picture. It happens to people all the time, christian and non-christian alike.

So you can choose to give credit for your achievements to someone else or take the credit yourself. Myself, I'm proud of what I've accomplished and not about to share the credit!

I can't believe that you would spit out such vile blasphemy K-Mortis.

Damn, it makes you hot.

I've already told her that. Makes no impact. Rather like lobbing peas at a brick wall.

He exposed the enemies in my life. Have you ever had to face your demons?
Well I have and I am now here to share my testimony that Jesus does truely save people. Coming out of the darkness into the light is the best thing anyone of us can experience!
I was once held captive by so many things, now I'm free. I no longer live in fear, I know God is true. When the Son sets you free, you are free indeed!

Indeed! Well, I appreciate that you replied to me but you failed to answer my question, i.e. you explained what God did, again, but failed to elaborate on how this message was delivered.

Specifically: How was the exposing of enemies revealed to you, e.g. literally, a sign, or inferred by yourself?

I am not trying to belittle you kurious_kathy by asking this question, rather, I’m most curious about you thought process.

To answer Shemp's question, I would say that Kurious Kathy has indeed converted me. I can at least say I'm more of an agnostic now than at any time in my life. In fact, considering I don't even attend Church anymore, the only thing left is the final declaration.

Spewing, I though you guys might be discussing the FoxFooty TV program 'The Gospel' on in Australia.

Oh well.
