Why not? You're already over the first hurdle...Tricky said:Please. I can't take this furlong.

I feel sorry for you guys if your own reality is knocking believers. His sheep do hear his voice, but it seems skeptics and pagans are the hardest to reach.

What are you going to say when you meet your maker and he asks you what did you do with my son? On that day there will be no excuses, " the 2nd death will be worse than the first!"

kurious_kathy said:Choosing to live a life of faith is definately a road less traveled. But I just don't understand why peolple feel it's a threat to test their own beliefs against what the bible says? Nobody should feel it is being crammed down their throat...but why not test our own truths in light of scripture?
I just wish I had done it sooner in my journey called life. I feel more complete and made wholein accepting his word is true. Don't ask me how it works, God's ways are not are ways. I do believe he makes himself known to his people though many question Christians true motives! A heart that is opened to him and really seeking will definately be found.
billydkid said:The road less travelled?????!!!!! In this country there is nothing more likely to make you a pariah than to be an atheist. We are constantly hearing how noble it is to have "faith". What is it - 90% of the country identifies themselves as Christian. Expressions like "good, church going people" or "good christian people" suggest that not to be Christian is to be evil. It is hardly the road less travelled.
Ceritus said:This may sound a bit "evil" but wouldn't it be funny if someone put some acid in a religious fanatics drink and after it started kicking in for the person who put it in to claim they were christ.
jjramsey said:This is half-true. The U.S. puts on a bigger show of religiosity than Europe by far, certainly. However, even though the population in the U.S. has been growing over the past few decades, and during that time about forty percent claim to go to church regularly, the actual number of people attending church has remained flat. Church attendance is still higher than in Europe, about 20%, but has obviously been falling. What we really have is a country that is becoming more secular but is largely afraid of coming out and saying it. On the one hand, then, Christians feel threatened by this secularizing trend, while on the other hand, atheists feel persecuted because it is still taboo to not pay at least minimal lip service to religion.

kurious_kathy said:But it's not suppose to be about being religious? It's all about having a relationship with the Father, through recieving his gift of salvation on the cross. Jesus is the light of the world!

metaphor of sheep and shepard is very appropriate here...
I will pass this way but once.kurious_kathy said:So what is you life metaphor???
sackett said:kathy, you say you used to believe in a bunch of New Age and other “psychic†stuff. Then you stopped. But then you at once took up Christianism, a particularly simple-minded variety to judge from what you write. How long do you suppose that belief will last?
What did you believe in before the psychic stuff?
kurious_kathy said:Metaphor? Good question for everyone. What is your life metaphor? That has alot to do with how you believe and what is important to you? So what is you life metaphor???
