What do you mean by a hierarchy? Unless you live alone in a cave you will be part of some sort of system.What is this golden rule of which you speak? Does drawing your unemployment benefit count as being in a hierarchy?

I have read those fairy stories.You do not consent to laws,and if you break them and get caught then you will suffer the consequences.
