Hey Menard! Want to have a citations contest? I'll understand if you say "No", though, as I'm already way out in front.....

Well JB I think this little stroll down FOTL nut lane should gain you volumes for your budding website.

Many, many 'Rob not from North Vancouver' examples of distorted logic, plain lying, fraud, etc.

I'm sorry to say that I mainly just laught at his posturing - while he 'talks' I always see Benito Mussolini strutting about....

Great stuff too Horatius

Top marks to Horatius.
I think that the star of "Bursting Bubbles of Deception" has been bursted.
I knew he was delusional but he has excelled himself over the last two days.
I am going to devote a few pages on my site to him now.:D

Glad to help! Now, about those "Fees" we're supposed to charge people for arguing on the Internet...[/FreemanTrainee] :D

That's actually a serious suggestion for another example on your page - take a look at how many times he's asked us to pay him in this thread - if that doesn't show what he's really interested in, nothing will. Freeing people from the tyranny of a fake government apparently isn't a strong enough motivator for Mr. Menard - he gots to get paid!

That's because he ain't gots no money. BMOTL don't pay so well, see... especially not when it only works while you're hiding from the police. :D

On a more serious note, if Menard wants to proceed with this challenge then a significant number of alterations would need to be made to the protocol. I have no objection to the concept of 'escrow', but I would recommend at the very least verifying M. Duhaime's credentials and ensuring that he is authorized to practice law whereever he's at.

For the actual challenge itself, there are far too many loopholes and too much vagueness in the terms as written; it would be trivial to simply offer to split the $10k 50/50 with Duhaime if he rendered a verdict of "valid". There would of course need to be a proper contract drawn up and signed by Menard, as well as very, very specific terms added to that contract about precisely what type of car Menard would be driving, what route he would take, who would be present to ensure that the route is taken, etc. etc. I also note that Menard suggests in one post that he may draw from the escrow funds prior to completing the challenge; this is of course a huge no-no, and hence why I suggest that Duhaime be independently verified, as no escrow attorney worth his salt would permit such a thing.

I predict that Menard will never even come close to removing the vagueness from his "wager", however. He cannot afford to; it's key to his scam that he never be forced to actually demonstrate any of his principles himself, as others have noted. But really, (and speaking to Google here) -- if you have to spend all your time hiding from the police, isn't being a Freeman just the same as being a common criminal? :D

Robs sent me another PM
Blair Franko of IPX Consulting in Kelowna has consented to an order prohibiting him from giving legal advice, appearing as counsel or advocate, or preparing documents for use in a proceeding. He was ordered to pay costs.

Or this one:
Robert Arthur Menard of North Vancouver has been prohibited by the Supreme Court from appearing as counsel, preparing documents for use in proceedings, and identifying himself in any way that suggests he is a lawyer. He was also ordered to pay costs.

Hmmm... where's the consent? Looks like even they put some importance to people consenting to their orders....

ASKY FAIL

So how do you enjoy dancing all by yourself?

I got this one as well from some of Robs fans

Legal Information is NOT the same as Legal Advice. This site provides educational information about law designed to help users safely cope with their own legal needs. But legal educational information is not the same as legal advice. The application of law varies with an individual’s specific circumstances. The laws of every state are in constant change, and although we go to great lengths to make sure our information is accurate and useful, we recommend you consult a lawyer if you want professional assurance that our information, and your interpretation of it is appropriate to your particular situation.

Two more barnpots

Yes indeed. And this person is asking about your IQ?

Damn. This thread has moved quickly. Someone poke me if Rob posts one of his get out of jail free documents or otherwise provides some sort of evidence.

I see the bizarre Notary fetish is in full force as usual. Is there anything that FOTLers do understand about legal matters?

Apologies, I understand that Menard is the hot topic at the moment, but I would just like to share this with you.
I have been in a lengthy conversation on tpuc with HuGe who claims that he is not bound by statute law and he falls into this trap by stating:

i break statutory legislation maaaaaaany times every single day and somehow get away with it...
So I respond by asking him to give just one example of his actions.
His response:

thats how you get caught jas... telling tptb what you get upto... especially in public places

Why is it without fail they always debunk themselves?

I'm a bad procrastinator. Once I drove around for about 6 months with expired tags. Didn't get caught. This can mean only one thing...LIGHTINDARKNESS OWES ME $10,000!!!!!!! STATUTES DON'T APPLY TO ME!!!!!!! Okay, that's two things.

Hey I tore the labels of my throw pillows - I still fear the knock at night and the bursting in of the storm troopers. But after 32 years the bastards still haven't caught me!

I guess we are all, in reality F O T L and we don't even realize it, gosh

Oh a repeat on an earlier question. If a fine is levied but not paid can the court sell it to debt collectors?

Last Sunday I accidentally drove down St Martins Lane WC1 the wrong way:jaw-dropp. If I don't receive a nasty surprise in the post does that mean LiD owes me $10,000 too?

Well of course! If tptb don't respond, it means they assent! That's FOTL contract law 101. You have proved the concept and LiD must pay up!

Really let us then determine who is and is not a coward. The coward will hide their identity and the courageous one will not. I go first to show you there is nothing to fear. I am Robert Arthur of the Menard Family, son of Eugene, from Windsor. Who are you?

Now we wait and see who is and is not a coward. The cowards here being the ones who refuse to identify.

Go head. Or are you scared? Are you the coward? Chicken? If you fail to accept this challenge are you not then the charlatan as well, for calling me a coward when clearly it is you who are scared to identify?

Man up!
"Man up!" says the coward who lacks the testicular fortitude to follow the life-ruining advice he gives others. Difficult to know whether to laugh or cry.

No, wait. Laugh. The coward hasn't even proved his own identity, yet feels entitled to demand the identity of others. What a maroon!

I'm ashamed to admit that I'm even worse at staying on top of these sorts of details than this. :o But it's relevant, so...

Mrs. D'rok and I moved to Ontario from Alberta about six years ago. Alberta only requires one plate on the back of the car. Ontario requires front and back plates. Our car, purchased in Alberta, doesn't even have a mounting bracket on the front. Consequently, I have been driving around with a single plate without being stopped for six years!!!...until last week.

After being pulled over, I apologized to the cop and explained the situation. He was very nice and let me off with a warning instead of a fine as long as I promised to get the front plate attached. So, I went to a local dealer and got a mounting bracket for the front....but I still haven't attached it.

Anyways, point being...I have been flaunting my disobedience of Ontario traffic laws for six years, including one six month period where my car was unregistered and improperly plated. No consequences so far. This even though Mrs. D'rok and I have gone on many, many road trips including multiple trips through the busiest, most populous region of
Canada (Southwestern Ontario).

Menard wants to toodle around Vancouver Island, one of the least populous regions of Canada, for a day or so in his FOTL-mobile and thinks that if he isn't noticed, he proves that FOTL works.

Give me a break.
