It is amusing how the FOTL loons, most of whom would claim to be fanatic supporters of a free market system, spend so much time trying to get of paying back legititmate debts they incurred. I think the term "Freeloaders" is a lot more accurate then "Freeman".
 
The thing that makes me laugh is their inability to defend their point.

The quote youtube videos and idiotic websites and when asked to back up the claims get nasty and argumentative.

I love the "Do your own research" excuse as well, it roughly translates as "I dont have a clue, see if you can find it"

Their sites are so well policed that they supress anyone that challenges the nonsense and allow the barnpots to run amock.

I think I will start a site called Freemanscam :D and fill it with all the counter arguments and links I have amassed.

If you're not already familar with how evolutionists deal with creationist arguments you might look at talk origins. They have all the creation arguments nicely arranged with the counter to it. Something similar for FMOLT would be excellent.

PS thanks for that link Hans it seems a logical approach
I was going to have an open forum where FMOTLers can post their theories and sceptics would be allowed then to post counter arguments without fear of moderation and censorship.
I will look into starting the site and any more tips and advice would be most welcome.

There was a recent news piece about a guy who owed a ******** to the bank (you know, the typical ####, adjustable rates, high interest, etc) and when the IRS boys came to collect, he got on his old trusty tractor and literally bulldozed his own house...

I'd like to propose that the official JREF acronym for Freemen on the Land be FOTL, partly because "freemen" or "freeman" seems to be one word, but mostly because FOTL is reminiscent of the word footling: lacking importance or significance, trifling; or stupid, inept.

I still favor the use of the term Freeloader because it describes what the Freeman are tying to do.

I heartily endorse FOTL simply because it works with both "freeman" and "freeloader", as well as my person favorate, an extremely foul word combined with "wits".

And Footle is fun to say.

see, my take on it is, if these FMOTL had their way, and all these permits and licenses were removed, and people were basically free to do as they wished in their society, what would happen when a road traffic accident involving a somehow-incompetent driver killed someone? would they not wish there was some kind of test to see if people are capable of driving a vehicle safely? how would you enforce this test? maybe people could be given some kind of paper work to confirm that they are, in fact, safe drivers? it just seems they are advocating a jump back in history...going back to square 1, if you will.

i propose that things would eventually simply develop back to what we already have today, with all the legal bells and whistles that they seem so adamant to abolish...

oh yes, i found this rather hilarious argument on a freeman related article somewhere...

whats wrong with wanting to be a freeman of the land u live on. To be a freeman doesnt mean that u dont have to follows laws. Its not about which laws apply to us but about the court jurisdictions that the government claims they have over us to force us to play fines to rights that our founding fathers said we were born with. If i made a mistake and ran a stop sign but no one was hurt in my action in why should i pay a fine for that. What contract did i enter into?

what an idiotic argument. i don't even know where to begin...it seems they are incapable of even following their own arguments through to their logical end. :boggled:

That´s easy. The dead victim would have the opportunity to sue the driver in a court that said driver agrees to contract with.:)
 
In the 90s I was discussing this same issue with 'sovereigns'. They felt a 14 year old could drive a 5 ton truck anywhere he wanted, at any speed - if he had one
