I get your joke but he isn't free to do that either. Evading arrest is a crime too.

I guess he's either free to do what "the Man" wants, or be punished by "the Man". Totally his choice.

...gah, I suck at spelling today...

Send him your Notice of Intent to Laugh then have at it.

My post has frills so we are technically under military law. Your notice is therefore void.
(Plus you have submit your request while holding a shrunken head in one hand and dealing cards with the other. Sorry, that's common law for you.)

His response reminds me of the game series Grand Theft Auto. Maybe he isn't actually old enough to drive.

I'm thinking 'especially' is using a very broad definition of 'driving'. I'm sure he does indeed 'drive' but in the passenger seat with his fully licenced, taxed & insured Mum behind the wheel.

I don't need the 'blessing of the police'. They too are under the same law.
Excellent! Record a traffic stop with you driving unlicensed behind the wheel of an unregistered, uninsured car. I'm sure it would be instructive for us all!

Sounds like a 60's commune and they all turned out well.

Actually... those had quite a few rules you & I (and propably especially too) would deem rather intrusive
(Often mentioned for example are plans for sexual intercourse to avoid the rise of family like structures)

Why is it that these marvelous videos that are produced for our viewing pleasure always seem to have that annoying part where the camera accidentally stops rolling?
Right at the good bit.

Well, after selling all their worldly possessions to their moms, they can't afford a reliable camera.

I can't imagine why. After all, we know how fine and upstanding FOTLers are. What with their oaths and all.

If you are really committed to a cause, martyrdom can be considered a victory if it creates a groundswell of public support.

Didn't happen here of course but I agree with the idea that "Jail is not defeat." Worked for MLK after all.

The difference is, MLK was working to change a law - he always acknowledged what the law was, and that he was choosing to violate it. Our freemen friends, however, would have us believe that the laws simply do not exist, or do not mean what they plainly say they do. That's not taking an admirable stance against what you believe to be an unfair law - it's just being an idiot.

It's like so many of the other things these guys rant on about. If they were assert that many of the current laws are bad laws, and intrude unnecessarily into our lives, I'd agree with them. If they were to work to repeal those laws, or run for office on such a platform, I'd probably support them. But instead, they choose to run around going "La la la - they don't apply to me! La la la!", which is just assinine.

Jail seems to be a continual theme in your posts Remirol.

Let me put it this way. Governments are there to serve people, not vice versa. How does that grab you ? Can you handle it ? It's called freedom. And the Common Law is the context within which we are able to stay free. How simple does it get ?

Aren't you forgetting your magical definition of the word people?

Any car I choose.

Actually I think you'll find that's called TWOC. Not only will the police and courts punish you for "choosing" someone else's car, in some parts of the land (i.e. Salford, where I work) the owners will also render your body parts into parts when they lay hands upon you. Just a word to the wise hilariously entertaining.

Post 2800! I'd just like to thank everyone who's been partaking in "The Freeman Movement and England Comedy Revue" for their postings. Here's to another 2,800 posts of equal entertainment value.
